Hi there,

18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2 looks a pretty fun game, but I saw on the game's page that it requires Windows 7. What about Windows version above ? 8.1 ? 10 ?

Did anyone try running this game on a modern PC ?

SCS have forum section for older simulation games. In some sub-sections (for other games) some ppl reports that most games of the series are work on Win 8.1 (and some - not).
eg http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=49907
I play Across America on Win 8.1 x64 and every games on Win7 x64 SP1. Players on dev forum or in Steam reports for every game that it not work. Even Win7 users. Others say tht every work (im too). Always same things.

(same for ExMachina\Apocalypse, two Tycoon games, Truck&Trailers\Bus Simulator and etc games from this devs or from russian)

Must work. GOG relase of 18WoS AA seems use GOG DX wrapper, im not sure about others. It can resolve some graphics bugs and add more (rename ddraw.dll than, or find proper settings (pay attention to resolution\aspect\vsync sections).

Alright, thanks for your reply. I'll probably wait for a bigger discount to try the game.

If you buy more than one - you have -50% discount instead of -33%. Whole series can be bought with -50%. Maybe not enough for 6(+2) almost same titles. I guess that after promo series discount still be -50% - so actually there is no promo-discount right now. Shorly after release Hard Truck 2 KofR be on discount sale with -75% (and later more?)

If you want just try how it works... khm-khm...
Works on win10 for me.
18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2 is working just fine on win 10.

You can just try it. On GoG, you have a 30 day money back guarantee.

unless it has a set up screen prior to launch I'd say it is screwed! I'd launch it base config and then beef up the settings that work. and use Compatibility Mode(although that hardly ever does anything and is just a superficial fake command bridge push button joke MS puts on newer windows)
I'd suggest also disabling "Ransomware protection" in "defender" a common issue with Windows 10/11 that usually fixes most games problems that are older than 2015

wrong!
a 2 hour money back guarnetee.
as per the posters keep flaming me about. on my post about this in another forum!
not 30 day!
2 hour!
and 30 day of no play!
and that is "voluntary" they do not guarantee they will give you your money back! it is at GOG's discretion.
