Head of Core Platform (DevOps, SRE)

As Head of Core Platform you will lead the team of passionate professionals:
1) orchestrating petabytes of data, managing services handling 35 000 reqs/s in peak moments and scaling up infrastructure for worldwide releases of iconic games,
2) moving infrastructure towards cloud solutions while migrating services to Kubernetes,
3) leveraging modern solutions to drive remote-first company culture.
Responsibilities:
Build an efficient & reliable technical platform
Ensure the technical platform meets the SLA targets for availability, performance, and security.
Shape a high-performing IT team
Manage Infrastructure, SRE & Helpdesk teams of around 13 people, along with all processes, tools, and culture. Lead the team and manage their performance, development, and career growth. Ensure your team is doing the right things and keeps a healthy balance of innovation and maintenance.
Take care of security
Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls to protect the platform from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
Relentlessly engage and communicate
Work continuously with cross-functional partners to receive input, get feedback, and keep them advised.
Job Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a platform or infrastructure role, preferably in a product-led tech company
- You have looked after an infrastructure powering large-scale online services, ideally a global one
- Expertise in cloud, microservices architecture, distributed systems, DevOps, CI/CD, and automation tools
- You have hired and managed IT specialists & engineers
- You are comfortable thinking both strategically at the broader company level and tactically at the project level
- Experience with cloud & on-prem infrastructure, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Varnish or alternatives to those technologies
- You can clearly define success metrics at the organizational level and articulate how teams and projects contribute to them.
- You have a proven ability to consistently and collaboratively resolve issues, mitigate roadblocks, and meet all financial and management goals on time.
- You have great empathy for Product, Engineering, HR, Finance, and other functions' goals and challenges.
- You excel in team management, coaching, and mentoring skills
- You are process-oriented and skilled in project management
- You possess a strong business sense with the ability to understand business priorities, operations, and IT enablement potential
