Not enough information
I could not get very far in this game without a walkthrough. I admit I am not the greatest adventure gamer, but I can usually make progress provided the clues provided are relatively easy to understand. Not so for this game..

Challenging Game
This is a great game with an interesting plot and sub themes. The graphics are great but at times the music was scratchy (maybe my machine!). Good acting on the part of the characters. Asylum was rather gruesome. Some puzzles were very challengng and sometimes because the environment added to the problem (Eg, could hardly hear the flute notes over the background music when tackling the flute-water spigots puzzle to get access to Sophia's lair). Some good death traps: I got caught in everone. I liked the non-linearity in that one can do the four worlds in any order. Nice ending, but no spoilers.

This did not feel like Zork
I had a bad experience with the high speed scrolling that made me feel like I was going cross-eyed and should have attempted to correct the problem before entirely giving up. I did, however, continue on to find 3 of the first 4 elements before throwing in the towel. That being said, I did search through and discover a good initial quantity of the game and had so much trouble tying any of the theme into its Zork predecessor. It completely lacked the wit and silliness that the original (and third game) contained, which made them so lovable to me in the first place.

Why can't anyone make more of these
The death of the adventure game was the result of "hints" and walkthru data published on the net. All someone with a brain needs to do is create an adventure game with changing variables so no story is the same. If any game should be the first it should be Zork.
