For the price, this is an easy 5/5 stars. It's janky and generally feels like playing a storyboard or early access version of a game. But man, what a game you can create in your mind and imagine this would have been with more polish. It does some very creative things with time skips and gameplay mechanics and was a ton of fun to play. Puzzles are pretty intuitive, and there's a helpful hint system if needed. Strongly recommended.
It's a short adventure game, that has some interesting story aspects, but is neither very surprising, nor very innovative. There was much more to explore with time mechanics, a missed opportunity. Some QoL mechanisms however are good. The pacing is fine, the overall story and its telling however is relatively weak. Not sure why, but the installation from galaxy left me with no sound through certain sequences, probably a missing codec. That's on GOG most likely, this should be dealt with by default by the installer.
Great story with a twist of a sarcastic humor, nice sharp graphics, good puzzles too, works without problems. The only objection is that it could be longer, but for the price it is an excellent game which I enjoyed.
This short game is like a rough sketch or a pilot episode. It shows promise, but needed more attention to develop it. The story premise that a method of mixing alchemy with torture was devised to reach immortality is interesting, and the outcome of that project is slowly revealed to you as you progress. Yet, the story is very disjointed and jumps all over the place and time leaving you in confusion. You play through a short series of locations, which consist of 2-4 screens. You return to some of these locations, but there are some changes. The story is dark and involves a lot of deaths, yet it is presented as quirky and rather funny. You control three protagonists of the story, with the focus shifting to one of them, but all of them are bad people fighting each other. The puzzles are quite logical and I liked them, but they are not intuitive in the sense that you don't know what is your aim and why you need to do that in the first place, as the game doesn't give you any natural clues. Luckily, there is a help button that gives a vague hint, and usually you immediately know what you need to do. I haven't encountered any bugs and the graphics and the game style are good. Even though there are lots of small objects that you must interact with, due to the style of the game they are easy to spot. Overall, I think the game was entertaining and I would still recommend playing it.
Pendulo Studios usually, in my experience, makes games that are very child friendly, games with a low level of violence. This game is different. There are several characters in this game that can best be described as psychopaths.
While there is another game by Pendulo Studios where you, while trapped by the main villain sitting in the next room, can litterally walk into a room with a wall covered with weapons and the character's saying a line about being a pacifist when you try to pick them up... This isn't how this game works. Be prepared for violence.
This is an adventure game, a point and click game, but it has a darker story. After playing it some time ago I decided that I don't want to return to it. Scary stuff just isn't for me.
Looking at the game page here it's recommended from 16 years. I recommend that you don't play it if you are younger or if you can't stand too much violence/terror in a game. As mentioned, many characters in it are pure psychopaths and acts accordingly.
Pendulo Studios have several other point and click adventure games out there for those who prefer games without violence. This feels like the game the developers used as an outlet for all the stuff they couldn't put into the other games since it would make them too scary/violent.
It is an okay game of it's type, and I give it an extra star since it isn't "tame" by restricting it's content to follow any norms that society may have. Art/games shouldn't be restricted in that way, so when games break away from that they deserve some extra credit.
