XIII

This is by far one the greatest games ever made (In terms of a shooter.). The game has amazing graphics that have aged well, a great story with many twists and turns, and some of the best effects and voice acting in any game. The game offers many approaches to the well thought out levels; you can sneak around with glass shards and a crossbow, go in fully automatic with a shotgun, or do both. The game is a bit rough around the edges when it comes to the gameplay, but it's stellar and fun while it lasts. Overall, either play this game, or don't. The choice is yours, but you can't miss this one.

I can not understand why so many people ignored this gem when it was released. The acting is superb and the visuals are great with all the cel-shaded comic book style. One thing that makes this game stand out is that when you shoot somebody in the head with a sniper rifle, a crossbow arrow or a glass shard you get three comic book style pages showing the foe getting killed and a text saying "AAAARGH!" when they die. The same happens when you shoot someone who stands near a cliff, you see a string of texts that are supposed to be the person screaming as he falls down to the ground. The story itself is great too, a fictional take on the whole JFK assassination back in the 60's with different characters and some pretty shady conspiracy going on in the shadows.

Just finished the game. I am running it on windows 7 and have been lucky to have no issues whats so ever. Just wanted to say what a fun quirky game! Actually owned it back in the day, but my machine failed to run it. Glad I got a chance to actually play it after so many years.

XIII is a good Unreal Engine FPS, but it has some flaws. The game's mechanics are a bit poor sometimes and... damn it Ubisoft, I would love a XIII-2 ! The story is awesome, not really close from the comic but it's awesome !

I always wanted to try this game, and upon seeing it on GOG, I bought it right away. What a fantastic game, I absolutely loved the style of it. The game play was great and the weapons were very satisfying. There was nothing better than lining up an enemy in my crossbow sights and sniping them. The little comic book panels that appear after a spectacular kill, never get old, never. My only wish was that there was a sequel to this game so I could continue playing. Hopefully that will be rectified in the future. This is a must have title for any fan of FPS games or comics.
