Xenonauts

Brilliant. Take the original xcom, bring the graphics up-to-date, remove the flaws, add what was missing, throw in some great music and sound FX, and you have Xenonauts. I have been waiting for this for a very long time, and it was worth it.

This game is kind of a remake of the original UFO Enemy Unknown. I like it even more, because you can focus on interesting thing, leaving the (boring) micro management to the game (no more tracking how much ammo each individual soldier or plane has at the moment, or if we are having enough clips in each store). Graphics is really nice, gameplay, missions are superb.

The game is really promising. XCOM remodernized. A ton of nice and deep options, and a lot closer to the 1994 original than the new Enemy Unknown / Within. However, there is one thing that all TV users should know: The game has unscalable fonts, and they are way too small! On a large HD TV, the game is utterly unplayable, even if you play on lower resolutions. What a shame. So, add 3-4 stars if you play on a monitor. Nowadays the font size should not be an issue!

The game is sold as being compatible with Mac and Linux. But, in actuality, the Mac and Linux versions are unsupported, according to the developers own website. Needless to say, the Linux version doesn't even start.

It is really like the old UFO series but its graphics is rather poor, most of the roles in squad inventory are useless and you cannot delete them (at least I did not find how to do it), air battles finish quite different ways if you fight yourself and if you ask computer to calculate oucome (try to kill light scout with two MiGs for example, etc. So, there are many things to improve.
