Worms World Party Remastered

The game is functional on my machine but I am a bit disappointed with the poor quality of this so called remastered. I mean it is fine to have the old game somewhat adapter to the new PC standards but Team17 did a very poor job adapting it. Pros: - 1080p in game resolution - same fun as in the old days but the game shows it's age and it made me appreciate more the new iterations of worms series. - tons of customizations - sounds are better Cons: - 1080 in game resolution. I added this to cons too because even if I am enjoying the nice resolution boost the weapons menu is not scaled up and the icons are very tiny and low res. - menu is horrible: low res, format 4:3, no remastering happened here - High resolution is done zooming out with no texture enhancements done. - antique networking model.

Tried this on both my Windows 10 Laptop and Windows 10 PC. Crashes on startup.

Buy Worms Armageddon instead. You will lose the Wormpot options (which is a shame as some of them are really cool) but you will get a game that - unlike this - works perfectly straight out of the box (tested on W10 64bit). Problems I encountered with WWPR: White boxes in menu (not gamebraking but definitely annoying and makes pretty bad first impression for a game that's supposed to be specifically optimized for modern systems), noticably lower framerate than WA at the same resolution, less options, virtually non existent on-line community - and what totally kills this release for me is the fact that REPLAYS DON'T WORK! They just won't trigger, no matter if you kill your enemy's entire team in one shot or you just finished his last worm, you will NEVER hear the signature applause and you will NEVER get the satisfaction of rewatching your perfectly executed plan, which makes the game much less enjoyable for me. I even reported this bug to Team 17 about 2 years ago, they replied, promising that they will look into it - but obviously, they never did, showing they just don't care...

It's unfortunate the features that come with the Remaster that should be good are so flawed so that they cannot be properly enjoyed. I followed the advice that many below have written--about finding the W2 executable, right-clicking, and disabling the full-screen optimization. I don't know what this helped exactly--on my QHD monitor, at the intro screen, I still kept seeing white rectangles brought on by the clouds in the intro. The FHD seemed to work fine for Quick Match mode, but when I tried the other mode, the screen would turn black, and same for going into options, the screen would turn black. I realized the game might still work normally, in the original resolution it was intended for, so I went back to the W2 file, right-clicked, and checked the box for start in 640x480 resolution. That made the game work without any issues. Well, the only issue being that replay doesn't seem to work at all in-game. So it seems to me like the Remaster features that matter such as the FHD 1920x1080 only works for Quick Match, which I'm still happy to have. While it is unfortunate that it doesn't work for me for the other modes, I'm still very happy to be able to play Worms World Party--which I consider the most fully featured Worms 2 generation game--since I would definitely have gotten the game even if it wasn't remastered.

Great game back in the days, just buyed to play online with a friend. Main menu completely bugged, greyed out random placely labels, black squares... And sadly impossible to play online. I just refunded it, if this becomes a game again I'm willing to rebuy it, in the current state no way
