Good shooter - uncut in Germany

First of all, I am very happy that the game is finally available uncut in Germany. Gunplay and the shooting is fantastic. I dont think you can get much better than this. Only downside is the dual wielding. Maybe its better with a controller, but with a keyboard, managing a gun in each hand is very cumbersome and awkward. Having played the game in the past, I had some serious technical issues. Luckily they seem to be absent from the GOG version. Basically loading any save game would crash my game every single time, even when starting a new game. In terms of the story and characters - it is a mixed bag in my eyes. Some cutscenes are well shot and voice acted with great setup and execution. And others are just terrible at best. Also the overall tone is a lot more "over the top". The New Order is a pretty serious game - but here it can be quite the opposite sometimes. Not everyone will like that. And finally, I am very happy that I can finally play the game with english voice acting. Before only the german version was available in germany and I never liked the german voice actors very much. There are also three DLC packs ... but the less said about those the better. They are very short and forgettable and I urge you not to pay extra for the season pass.

Good game, if you cut away some fat.

The New Colossus is at its best when setting you loose and letting you go wild with the Nazi shooting. - The guns, movement and shooting mechanics work very well. Graphics still hold up nicely. - The main campaign is fairly long, taking you to New York, Roswell, New Orleans and... Venus! My best advice is to stick to the main campaign and SKIP any additional content the game throws at you. - Skip the DLC's, they're short and unimportant. Skip the side missions, you'll get everything you need by doing the main story. The side missions send you back to places you've been at, to do boring repetitive tasks. - Another advice would be not to get bogged down with stealth sections. If you are detected, just start shooting like crazy and have fun. If I were to compare The New Colossus to the other games in the (new) series, I'd say it's slightly worse than The New Order and The Old Blood but way better than YoungBlood.

It's a sequel

This game has fun gunplay - as you would expect from the previous game(s) - with some extra gadgets. Tries to mix some edgy action humour with some serious tones. For better or worse. Most likely needed to enjoy the previous title(s) before diving into this one. Besides getting a non-negligible amount of crashes, the lighting is atrocious. Whatever the settings, I could see barely anything. Very poor performance overall from a technical perspective.

Not easy on easy.

Difficulty spikes. Bullet sponge enemies. Stealth that doesn't quite feel like stealth. BUT... Overall I enjoyed it enough. Some of the levels are really well realised visually. Laughed like hell at certain points in the plot and the world felt lived in. Sadly I decided to drop my guns and watch the ending on youtube during the final battle as it was just too annoying for me. No doubt 20 years ago I'd have have kept going. So yeah, give it a go, just don't expect easy mode to be easy mode. :/
