Description
An old-school challenge in a crisp and colorful package, Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls revitalizes the time-honored formula of the original dungeon crawler series with modernized visuals and sound.

Choose each of your six team members’ class, race, gender, and moral alignment, then delve into one of several dungeons near the central town hub. Advance with caution — monsters are vicious, deadly, and attack in packs. Plan each expedition carefully, stay focused on your objectives, and know when to retreat to the surface.

In between expeditions, chat with the locals, pick up new quests, pray for guidance at the temple, go bargain-hunting for new/rare equipment, and more. With patience, skill, and careful planning, your party will rise from a gang of paupers to a mighty force.
The magic torches are lit, the monsters are ravenous, and the kingdom is waiting for a new hero. Enter the world of Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls and experience a classic adventure reborn.

KEY FEATURES

Your Party, Your Way
Choose from eight classes and five races to build a six-person team with diverse but complimentary skill sets. Change their classes in mid-adventure to fit your needs, or focus on leveling up their primary class to earn bonus skills for the party’s benefit.

So Beautiful and So Dangerous
Tangle with a menagerie of over 100 distinctive monsters, from the traditional to the bizarre, all drawn by famed series illustrator Jun Suemi. The game also features character illustrations by renowned commercial artist Yuki Hayabusa.

Conquer the Dungeons
Every step through the underworld is fraught with danger, and one wrong move can end your adventure. But if you have the grit to withstand what the dungeons throw at you, both you and your party will gain enough experience to stroll through them like you own them.

Wizardry’s Rebirth on PC
The PC remaster of this classic originally released for PlayStation 3 features English and Japanese text with the original Japanese voiceovers, high-resolution graphics, and a brand new Turbo Mode to make exploring the game’s massive dungeons a breeze. All story DLC is included, and players can download the Growth Fruit DLC for free to give themselves a boost when creating characters.

This game IS a decade old

To the people complaining that the game feels like it came out a decade ago IT'S BECAUSE IT DID. This game is from 2009. Do some simple reading before posting reviews that just make you look silly.

Classic Wizardry

This is basically like the original Wizardry, but with Manga graphics. Way back in the early 1980s, two games appeared. One was Ultima, the other Wizardry. Ultima had overground maps, a story, and 3D dungeons. Wizardry had 3D dungeons and grinding. No overground, not much of a story, but grinding, grinding, exploring 3D dungeons and yet more grinding. No quest markers or maps, you had to get out your graph paper and graph out each step lest you become lost. Now imagine that, but with manga graphics. The basics are the same. Enter the dungeon, map it out, grind, grind, and grind. The town is an illustrated menu, with more manga graphics. After Wizardry 8, the Western Wizardry series ended, and the series resurfaced in Japan. This game is part of the Japan-based series. It's called the Wizardry renaissance, and it's a fitting name. It's basically a new version of Wizardry I done with beautiful manga graphics. If you are looking for a deep, rich story, quest markers, and hand-holding, this is not the place to go. It's a grind, and a straight-forward dungeon crawl. But in my opinion, that's what makes it great.

Not as good as the oldies

I really wanted to like this game! I was excitedly awaiting it on sale to sweeten the experience. What I got was a glossy nothing. Seriously, there are only 10 quests! Although I enjoyed the classic character creation style, as well as the new special skills each class possesses, the overall gameplay was sorely lacking! I felt that the game just suddenly ended without any pizzazz. There were no puzzles, no riddles, no npc companions and no depth. This game felt like something along the lines of a kiddie console game, or the early efforts at a kickstarter! I personally feel that this game is worth more around the 5 dollar range. I mean, the pictures are pretty, but the game has no... purpose. Also, I would like to know what they are screaming whenever they get hit! It is all in Japanese, which in itself is no negative, but I like to pretend that they are swearing like sailors! That was pretty neat....

It's good, I like it but...

To a more modern gamer this game will seam somewhat illogical at times. This is a faithful reboot of the original Wizardry games, admittedly with an Anime aesthetic. If your not interested in a Old School RPG feel, with a more modern J-RPG look, this game is not for you. If this does interest you, we still have one more problem. For whatever reason, this game doesn't have a manual, and you'll really want a manual because very little is explained. Fortunately, there a plenty of guide to be found online. it's just oddly thoughtless of the developers not to include one, as this will be many players first experience with a Wizardry game.

Meh

It is just okay. It's old Wizardry made mildly more user friendly. Lots and lots and lots of grinding and next to no story or quests even. Really enjoy the combat, but the game would be a lot better if there were interesting things to find when exploring. It's the same tile types from floor 1 to 10, dark zone, lightning trap, anti-magic, spinny tile and forced move tile. No real puzzles either. All of the good gear is dropped from enemies too, not world chests. Even if I did enjoy it, the whole time I couldn't help but think of what else I could be playing instead.
