Okay, so there’s a bit of what you might recognise as golf in there but loads more of what definitely isn’t! Confused? Excellent!
Try Sporty Sports!, It’s Snowtime or one of the hundreds of other incomprehensible levels, featuring toasters, hot dogs, office chairs and a multitude of utterly random objects.
Come back every day to play new courses and win a bunch of more or less useful prizes.
Grab your clubs (string of sausages, frozen rubber glove, it doesn’t matter which) and tee off into a hilarious anarchic world.
To be honest, so do we. And that’s the beauty of WHAT THE GOLF? A game made for people who hate golf, by people with no clues or respect for the game. Let’s play!

I played the touchscreen version a bunch on an Apple Arcade trial, and now I can own my very own What The Golf! I love the cheerfully surreal vibe. Some levels are trivial, some are challenging. Several of them are riffs on other video games. The gameplay changes from level to level. A fun oddity.
What the Golf is an irreverent golf-type game that typically has you ignoring the onus of golf (least amount of shots to sink), that provides a wide swathe of scenarios and scenes. And if you're just playing it to beat it, things will be fine.
The thing is, and where WTG stumbles is in these "Crown Challenges", where you're asked to complete two other variants of each course. And typically one of these will include a par challange, where you have a limited number of shots to accomplish it.
These are feasible, but overtuned in the direction of being rude and frustrating; typically only leaving a shot at most for breathing.
I wouldn't go as far as to call the game outright funny, but it got a chuckle out of me every now and then. There were plenty of surprises that made me smile. But you kinda get the point pretty quickly. What's more is that I don't really have any desire to go back and replay it, and I don't remember many of the levels since they were so quick. The music is also really annoying, frankly. It was charming at first, but then it didn't let up on the cheese at all. I muted it and played my own music, which is rare for me. For how simple the game is, it is good that it isn't stretched out to be any longer than it already is. I would consider getting it on sale, if nothing else to show to a friend and make them giggle a bit.
