What Remains of Edith Finch

A sad and emotional tale of a quirky family who literally have a house in their family tree. The stories are well told and cleverly put together and the graphics are good, but it lacks an emotional punch or any real closure at the end. It’s an interactive story rather than a game, with some atmosphere but very limited challenge and to be honest, I was expecting a lot more from it. Each story is told differently and in some inventive ways, but it wasn’t deep or thought-provoking enough for me.

This is a game where part of the gameplay seems to be working out how to open a door or how to catch a rabbit when you're a little girl dreaming about being an owl. Probably quite a good game if that's what rings your bell, but I was simply relieved to stop playing it. It's too slow and there's too little reward in the tiny achievement of working out what keys roll a shark down a hill. Might come back to it when I'm retired or something.

Useless WASD keys bound to movement, no wayy to change them and Steam files in the install folder. And there's no forum accessible on gog to try to help each other. Steer away from this: really bad devs.

well, this felt a little ripped off. when i heard it got many awards in 2017, i was curious to the game. to prevent spoilers i didn't watch more then the trailers and a few reviews. in steam it was 20 euro's which i found to much to swallow for a couple hour game. i now bought it for 10 euro's and in hindsight, this is still too much. i was done in bout 2 hours. and what have i done? i died a couple of times... why do ppl find this so amazing? even on a emotional level it was very weak. To me the stories didn't stick either. maybe the baby story will stick cause it was fucked up in a way (im trying not to give any spoilers). i would suggest to buy this when it is 2-3 euro's as that is as much time you will spend in it. as artsy as it may be. This is not like a painting where you can ask high prices for almost nothing.
