Warhammer: Mark of Chaos - Gold Edition

Mark of chaos is a very clean experience focused on the rpg/strategy and management of warhammer fantasy armies. The campaign is engaging and you don't waste turns like in WHTW simply micromanaging rebels. Every battle brings something new to the table, and the story is full of twists and turns.

Difficulty is a factor, sure. They don't make them like they used to. The game is unforgiving and, much like Rites Of War (the turn based 40K game), it doesn't just help to keep your units alive - it's pretty much essential. Reinforcement isn't easy on the road. The game offered something new and fresh, and was very well polished. Truly dark, forboding and gritty environments and settings to fight in. Excellent character models and animations. I really enjoyed it back in the day, despite it's very demanding requirements for the time. Today you can experience it at max settings and probably be close to a 4 figure framerate. What's not to like? Sure it's difficult. But so are all great single player games! I wouldn't have it any other way. If you need help, check Youtube.

so i bought this recently and after i installed it, i found out that the game doesn't work on windows 7 64. my game always crashed after the hammer loading screen... don't know why this is... but it never happened with the pirated version i previously had (granted that one had major issues with the world map, like missing textures and such), but it played well and it launched... hope this gets fixed soon... thank you for reading this.

I own Mark on the discs. Finished it both on the two sides twice. It was decent but it doesn't have fidelity to the table top kind of play. Nor does it have two of the four Chaos gods factions represented. That being said graphics are reasonable. Gameplay is pretty straight forward. Only real complaint is that the champion/hero duels are not really something a player is prepared for the first time they come up. There is no training tutorial that I am aware of. As such it is a case of play it by ear. Now this would not be an issue normally if there were not certain battles/missions that were dependent on a player knowing how to do it. One more thing, finding a pc version of Battle March was darned near impossible. Every time I went looking I came back empty. Thankfully it is finally out on GoG.

At first it was just a weird happening. The game was getting automatically minimized without letting me access it, I opened a case for it but one day boom it worked fine. Based on what happened I assumed that for some reason this game doesn't like it when other programs like steam for example play in the background. I now tried once again to play and here we go again....automatic minimization the moment the game launces, and even though it runs, the game's window is fully unaccesable getting minimized every time I try to access it. I can't understand what's going on really, having the same problem with AOE3 on steam and it's weird because I can't understand the source of it. And the sad thing is it has to happen to games that are actaully good, Mark of Chaos is pretty fun but I can't enjoy it when I have this thing happening :(
