Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

God i still love this title even after all these years. It's pure Warhammer 40k experience from start to finish with well paced action, solid story and captures the brutal, grim future of its setting. I was depressed after i heard its original sequel had been axed and the studio shut down. Thank you Sabre interactive for bringing back the sequel and staying true to the experience this one started. Fully recommended and endorsed by my wallet.

This is my first Warhammer and it seems this is game isn't the start of the lore but in the midst of it. Regardless, I like the story. The gameplay is pretty fun and action-packed. Because of Dark Souls I expected my rolls to be invincible, but Warhammer keeps the realism where you still can get hurt. Same goes for the execution animation. Just got to play more conscious, that's all. I beat the game in one sitting in about 6 hrs. Overall, great game.

The game was a bit short, I beat it in about ~6 hour on normal difficulty. The gameplay is a bit simplistic compared to other hack and slash games, depeding on the weapon, you can do a 3-5 hit combo with stuns mixed in. You have access to most iconic ragend and melee weapons like the bolter, chainsword, powerhammer, plasmagun etc... Not a AAA experience, but for a weekend break, it suffices.

I would love nothing more than to play this game after finishing the sequel, but it crashes on launch. While Im sure there is a fix it Im not a tech monkey and changing settings on my pc to play a game is a risk I dont want to take. Seeing as the "Remaster" has been a massive failure, I'd love to see this given the Good Old Game treatment and the fan patches/ fixes be applied on GOGs end. Im not going to refund in the hopes they get it fixed up so I can have more time with the Ultramarines and Titus.

Solid shooter, understandably brown visuals given the release time. Lacks any real fizz though, lacks any excitement in encounter design and the health system forces you into the same cycle of actions over and over again, and anything that makes a chainsword feel boring isn't what should be in the game.
