Take control of one of the most technologically advanced armies in the Imperium - The Adeptus Mechanicus. As Magos Dominus Faustinius, you’ll lead the expedition on the newly rediscovered Necron planet of Silva Tenebris. Customize your team, manage resources, discover long-forgotten tech, and control your Tech-Priests’ every move.

Your every decision will shape the missions ahead and ultimately decide the fate of the troops under your command in over 50 hand-crafted missions. Choose your path carefully - the Imperium depends on it.

Augment

Flesh is weak! Upgrade your Tech-Priests with weapons, support items, Servo-Skulls and other mechanical augments as you assemble your cohort. Customize your team’s disciplines, choosing from multiple character classes to create a squad for every playstyle.

Unique Tactical Combat

Engage in immersively strategic combat that will test your mettle under the extreme pressure of the xenos ambush. Access your most powerful weapons and abilities by using Cognition Points and advance on your enemy without pause. Fear not, the Omnissiah favours the brave.

The Library of Immersion

A compelling story written by Black Library author, Ben Counter, specifically crafted to fit the unique personality of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction, with each character having their own personalities and agendas. Feel the tension and admire the devotion with unique visual effects and breathtaking audio.

Difficult Decisions

Make tough decisions that will forge the future from your Ark Mechanicus, The Caestus Metalican, and send you towards alternate endings for a truly unique playthrough. Be warned, however, the more you explore each tomb, the greater the rewards but also greater the threat.

Canticles of the Omnissiah

40K: Squad size strategy

There are a pile of 40k licensed games floating around over the last few years and, for the most part, they're pretty much cash grab garbage. GW, the creators of WH40K seem to be more than happy to let people slap the 40K name on any old rubbish and shovel it out into the world without a care at all. This game is not one of those. Due to the aforementioned loads of garbage out there, i didn't want to risk wasting money on another 40K game unless i was sure it was going to be good. Luckily, a guy on YouTube (Mandalore Gaming) decided to test the waters first and offered a great, honest review of the game and based on that, i decided i should give this one a shot and boy, am i glad i did! Ok, so the real review starts here - this is a Warhammer 40k themed game which looks remarkably like X-com, and absolutely does not play like it - it has a similar style, but plays in its own way. Cover mechanics? nah these guys don't duck, there are no frustrating hit %'s to worry about - weapons just hit - this goes for you and the other guy though, so fights can be fairly brutal if you don't think about what you're doing. That said, its not an intensely difficult experience and is actually fairly relaxed. The challenges ramp up though, so its not a complete breeze. It is themed really well and plays super easily. Visually, it looks like the developers channeled 40K really well - all the dialogue is excellent and appropriate to the setting. Non-40k folks may find this game a bit jarring to get into - the Mechanicum isn't really explained in much detail.. or.. well, any, so a little prior knowledge of the 40k world will help things make a little more sense - seriously, not much is needed, the game is quite approachable once you know a little bit about the setting. Ok, this review is rambling and going nowhere. Put it this way, of all the 40K games I've played, this one deserves the license, it earned it, respected it and respected the players. This game is well worth your time.

Not a single bug, glitch, or crash in the entire 30 hour campaign

This is a polished, finished game. You're buying a complete product! Not used to that. It's easy though, if you're familiar with the genre then crank up the difficulty before you start. It also does the weird thing where the beginning of the game is way harder than the end of the game. The last boss was an absolute victory lap, especially with all the lategame guns and abilities. The abilities are great though. It's a single player game that's not too worried about balance. You can shoot through walls, or make your guys run so fast that they can cross the entire map. You can stack damage buffs on a guy until he one-shots one of the super tough Necron units. As far as the story and writing goes, it's a little surface level. You have your super religious grandpa guy who wants you to pray away your problems and destroy the xeno technology. Then you have the super-tech focused girl, who wants you to bring all the weird alien stuff back to the base so she can study it. These two advocate for their respective view over and over and over again. They don't really go much deeper than "xeno technology is heresy, destroy it!" and "but if we study it then we might discover something we can use against our enemies!" Which isn't a bad foundation to start from, but I do wish they had done more with it. 5 stars though, for sure. This game is fun, and a breath of fresh air

A really solid 40K game

The sound design and soundtrack are fantastic, the game play is varied enough (if you can avoid making one of the fairly OP unit builds), and the lore/world building is top-notch. If you're unsure, check out the Mandalore Gaming on review of it on YouTube. It's not perfect, but for the price it's really solid.

A good WH40K AND a good tactical game

The last time I've played a game this much in one sitting was when I was still in HS. + Really good atmosphere both visually and from a sound design standpoint + Highly customizable characters - play your way + Good progression system - you can feel theafter every mission. Both by the look of your tech priests and the way you take on engagements. Your tactics and comos can change beetween missions because of milestone traits and weapons/accessories + Don't get me started on the music cause we'll be here till tomorrow + This is a thing that should be expected of a complete product, but in some other games this just didn't always work so I'll mark it as a positive here: the "you can hit this and this enemy if you move there" indicators were always correct - In my experience the game has some balancing issues, some disciplines being either simply better than others or just unnecessary - The only bug I've encountered was beam weapons not always working -? This is part of the game design, I liked it but it can be frustrating for some: you have no idea what your enemies are capable of. Their damage, movement, abilities, attack types, etc. is up to you to discover. The scanning mechanism only reveals their HP and armor types/amounts. ? The graphics are not bad, but nothing to write home about. Despite this - as I've previously written - It's really atmospheric. All in all if you like tactical games where you can pull off satisfying combos, youuu should give it a try; even if you're not a WH40K fan.

If you play this, you are aready saved

Very good game, interesting, have good characters (do as Videx say or repent), WONDERFUL sound and fun gameplay. It takes some time to learn all the tricks but when you do, game dont stop there, necrons keep throwing more and more challenging stuff at you so you dont get bored. Some fresh air after hours and hours of xcom.
