The Walking Dead is a five-part game series set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic book series. Play as Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, who has been given a second chance at life in a world devastated by the undead. With corpses returning to life and survivors stopping at nothing to maintain their own safety, protecting an orphaned girl named Clementine may offer him redemption in a world gone to hell.
Based on Robert Kirkman’s Eisner-Award winning comic book series, The Walking Dead allows gamers to experience the true horror of the zombie apocalypse.
A tailored game experience: live with the profound and lasting consequences of the decisions that you make in each episode. Your actions and choices will affect how your story plays out across the entire series.
You’ll be forced to make decisions that are not only difficult, but that will require you to make an almost immediate choice. There’s no time to ponder when the undead are pounding the door down!
I just recently finished this game, my verdict is this: the game even now in 2025 can interest the younger generation to see, feel and experience new emotions in the future, the game's ending especially really made me cry. The game is really cool and I don't regret spending 3€. The game is almost 13 years old then I was 8 at that moment two years later I played this game a little on an old phone and I didn't understand why people cry when they see death in movies or something like that but now... I have no words, the game is great, it's a pity that there are few games like this now :(
The way the entire game comes together is such genuine perfection that it honestly for me ranks up there as not just the very best video game of all time, but one of the absolute best experiences within any entertainment and story telling medium of any kind. A true, through and through masterpiece.
I generally enjoyed the game, the way the story played out.
And it is a story - you don't have a huge amount of relevant freedom that actually affects how things go. As long as you play it for the story, that's not a bad thing.
But I really hate the way Telltale add unskippable previews at the end of each episode, with all sorts of spoilers, but you have to sit through it if you want to see the credits and hear the music. I put up with this for a while then stopped buying their games. All it needed was a "skip" button. It's as if they created a UI that limited your choices more than the game itself does.
It annoyed me enough that I halved the score.
STORY:
very good story that makes you want more, i would say that the first episode is ok but after that it just gets better and better, great world building
if you could say something bad about the game then it would be the fact that the choices you make really dont matter, but i dont really care cause the story that they made is just so good
9/10 story
GAMEPLAY:
the walkingf around and inspecting gameplay is fine sometimes good n sometimes bad
the story/choice gameplay is good, maybe not super impactfull but still good
there are an amount of bugs, i really dont care about bugs and glitches but still
weak 7/10 gameplay
some annoying things( doesnt change rating)
1 dlc is needed to 100% trophies
2. the dlc has incosistent trophies, explanation:
in the original season 1 you get trophies from completing the chapters
so as a example you finish episode 1 then you might have 20% of all the trophies
now for the dlc, it has those chapter trophies but it also has these interact with a item or speak to a person trophies, if the whole game had trophies like that it wouldnt have been a problem
so i ended up with 98% of the trophis :(
KINDA SPOILERS???
i think that there should have been way more lee and clementine bonding, i feel that the train sequence almost got it right with the training, the train station was also fine but there wasnt much of that before that episode
yes they are close but i dont feel there is enough proof for us to really believe it
OVERALL:
90/100
the story is just too good to really care about thr gameplay being mid
(not a native speaker)
The storyline is alright but the characters are often these extreme types that you are either for or against. Which gets old quickly. The worse part are the inconsistent controls. Different controls for different moments and only rarely to they work well.
