The Walking Dead: Season One

I got it for free some time ago and eventually decided to give it a try. It was a miserable experience, through and through, but I think that the awful source material is to blame, mostly. I just can't get how cringy it is to see attempts to make slow zombies apocalypse exciting. Characters screaming at each other that "there is no time!!!", instead of actually swinging that axe... Yeah, if the characters behaved like normal human beings, there would be no suspense or excitement. But the zombies that are "attacking" the group in the woods are so slow that even fake drama argument between characters doing literally nothing but waiting for the zombies to come, that after the argument is over and characters leave a poor guy to die in a bear trap, zombies are still in the same place they were when the argument started. Thoroughly stupid. I just couldn't take anything seriously. Characters didn't feel like real people, but a bad plot tools. The way the player character gets infected is beyond bad. No gameplay didn't help. I can see the telltale formula somehow work, but they need extremely good storytelling material, like the wolf among us, for it to work. Bad franchise without any substance does not work.
