Waking Mars

Although not completely fair with the developer, I am forced to give a 1 star review. Despite having all the drivers for my NVIDIA GTX 660 installed the game does not launch because of some GL driver issues. I reinstalled the drivers, tried compatibility modes, re-downloaded the game, reinstalled, etc. it still does not work... Any ideas anyone ?

I don't need my games to be an execise in mass murder or an adrenaline fueled action fest. I like a good puzzle game but man, this is just boring. Every area boild down to the same thing, over and over. Collect the pods, plant the pods, collect other pods, make those pods grow, open the doors and do it again. And again. And then again. Ugh. Listen to the stereotypical asian scientist/astronaut spout vaguely asian philosophy. Listen to the robot tell hackneyed robot joke. Just kill me. Or give me my money back. Maybe you could give me my money befor eyou kill me.

I was worried this was going to turn into an anvilicious aesop about how humans are destroying the environment, however this never materialized. There isn't even a hint of political propaganda here, just a good game with an interesting premise.

I don't like this game. I wish I hadn't bought it. I knew there was no violence in this game and that's fine. I don't need violence to enjoy a game, but this game feels built around a weak concept. A little fighting would have made this game more enjoyable, but only if the controls worked better. Your character doesn't feel responsive. It's just not fun. There's a lot of dialogue and it all sounds off. I honestly can't think of one thing I like about this game. I endured it for half an hour and then uninstalled it. Some people seem to like this game. I honestly don't understand why.
