Waking Mars

Entertaining, atmospheric, pleasant. Not very long. Makes up for quite evening sessions. An ideal game to play if you are interested in a good narrative and a laid back gameplay.

Its very rare to find a game that was a great story and amazing voice actors like this one. Its great that its not focused on US v.s. THEM, or some evil conspiracy or martian demons. I really enjoyed this game, and I highly recommend it

first off, don't be put off by the arcade-like game play looking screen shots. Though this game does play like an arcade it looks superb the character animations, detail of his EVA suit, and backdrops are amazing. You must make each type of life form reproduce and multiply in order to proceed rather than just "blasting aliens". Using your research tool and your chatty computer, you must balance over population with lack of population of species. There is some dialogue scenes that are both cute and funny and also intriguing bringing the back story to life in the game. The science to these creatures, while fictional, is feasible and you use these "laws of physics" to apply experimentation and inter act with them with various types of eggs and various terrain.The graphics are amazing and it isn't just a 2d jump on the mushroom like the screen shots show, and for the price of a discounted hamburger(as most cost more without a coupon anyway lol) it is certainly worth a shot, you'll end of playing it all night!

Didn't look like the type of game I'd enjoy, but I got it amongst other games in a humble bundle, so I tried it out and was very pleasantly surprised! It was refreshing to have non-combatitive gameplay, the dialogue and story was interesting and the music was good. The gameplay is a lot about exploration.

What a gem of a game! You'll have to explore the unknown depths of martian caverns to figure out the red planet's past as well as shape its future. The planet has its own, very unique, fascinating oecosystem, and you have to explore how the different parameters work together to be able to manipulate it properly. It's a very fascinating experience, to be able to learn from a game in such a way. Waking Mars is a very peaceful, almost relaxing game with a very intersting idea: In this game you don't destroy lifeforms, you give them the possibility to live. Strongly recommended.
