Before your fall, you led a crusade against evil. Now you've become one of the undead creatures you once battled - a Vampire. Inhabiting the World of Darkness, you must face a series of brutal confrontations with your nemesis Vukodlak, a powerful vampire lord.

Your unholy showdown begins in medieval Europe and rages on into the modern day, as you track a soulless enemy in an eternal struggle to destroy him. For this is the only hope of vengeance for your tortured immortality.

  • A storyline that begins in Middle Ages and ends in the present
  • A well-known universe as the game’s setting: World of Darkness
  • Your decisions during both gameplay and conversations will determine the final outcome of the story

Almost perfect

The storyline is great and the player identify easily with the hero drama. Today this is rare with all the Diablo close an such. The saga goes on since the medieval times. I remember that the hero was from the sixth generation, I think. In the modern times he was a truly formidable vampire. The plot really makes you want to save the girl, once pure, now lost to the paradise, from the evil who captured her. The bad about the game is the AI from your followers, who sometimes attack the enemy for their own initiative, ruining almost all atempt to stealthing, and sometimes engaging in suicide combat. The enemy too seems to have a sixth sense and knows you are attacking him even before he can see you. But these are small defects in a otherwise great game.

Even better than Bloodlines

Once upon a time 2D rpgs like Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment ruled the world, then darkness fell over PC Gamers and the golden age of western rpgs seemed lost. From the ashes of such games came Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption, sporting not only an awesome 3d engine that makes the graphics still nice and crisp to see (it uses a revamped version of Quake 2 engine) but fresh gameplay mechanics in part borrowed from the homonym tabletop rpg in part brand new. Redemption is a sort of gap filling game from modern rpgs such Neverwinter Nights 2 Dragon Age and old glories as Icewind Dale. You controls a party of vampires ables to suck blood, killing the enemy and healing themselves at the same time, this gimmick opens to you very cool combat tactics and there's no need to do a stupid camp to refill your HP in the middle of a dungeon. It's wicked plot and fascinating atmosphere will drive you along a lot of dark and well designed dungeons, from the medieval age to our present days ear future. An epic game about a lost love, a lost soul, and a whole lot of angry vampire clans!

Best vampire game yet.

This is by far the best and most in depth vampire game out there. It has a vivid storyline, Many hours of gameplay, and requires you to actually think. All vampire games being made now should look at this one and make theirs accordingly. much better than it's sequel bloodlines, even with the older graphics and third person top-down camera.

the game itself is great

This game is an old gem unfortunately GOG has not gotten it to work on win 10. Now that Dosbox and other emulators exist it should be the very next on their to do list to get an WInXP emulator so we can get our games working again in win 10. It is a whole range of games that stopped working for me on win 10 and I would love to play them again. This is first on that list so therefore the review here. I do recommend the game and I had it working before I got a new computer with win 10.

Rockin'!

I absolutely love this game. This game is still fun even after all these years. I've probably played this game 10 times all the way through since it came out. Good story, good use of the Vampire background. You get a feel for the different Vampire clans and what they mean to the world. You play as Kristoff and you're on a mission for revenge and redemption from start to finish. Taking place back in the crusades, then all the way up to modern times. Really cool game I recommend buying!
