Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption

Older graphics do make it difficult during battle to hit enemy But everything else is very enjoyable. . GoG does an amazing job with older Games.

I ran this on Windows 11. This game does not appear to support any resolution other than 640x480, crashing if any other resolution is attempted. Movement is accomplished by clicking on the ground when good old WASD would have been much easier.. but maybe back in 2000, computers could only run this at 10 FPS and so WASD was impractical. The "controls" menu doesn't let you change any controls. The voice acting is mediocre but today's standards but I think that in 2000 having this much voice acting was considered to always be a good thing. The maps are basically corridors with no alternate paths, or very short alternate paths. The city map has unopenable doors and unsmashable barrels galore.. but some can be opened and some smashed! Combat is RPG in that your stats determine whether you hit, but action in that you need to click over and over to keep trying to hit your opponent. I only got a little ways into the mines when the game crashed with a very fancy crash screen (it disassembled the crash point and showed good ole assembly instruction codes!). Overall this game was probably pretty good in 2000 when it released but by today's standards it just isn't good.

Nostalgia at its finest. Killing vampires in the past and present. I love it.

Must try, must buy, must play.

early game difficulty can be harsh esepcially with the bosses heavily reccomend looking online to see what disciplines to level up and what stats are key
