A Perfect Game and A Great VtMB Game
Recommendation before starting the game: Delete the launcher folder that has the publisher's Paradox launcher. It has nothing to do with the game and you don't need it. Played 40+ hours from start to finish without a single crash. This is the first game ever that on day 1 release hasn't crashed on me at all. Didn't come across any bugs which is amazing and unheard of. The auto save system is perfect. The game is linear and doesn't crash like other games where you need to constantly save before a crash. This was a huge plus while staying immersed in the game. A small open world that wasn't a waste of time like other massive open world games that have lots of exteriors and very few interiors. Open world fatigue won't be an issue here. It's just right. The graphics are amazing. It's like playing inside of a fine oil painting. Beautiful! The sound is creepy but you play as a supreme baddy with nothing to fear. Loved the contrast from the first VtMB game where you start as a neonate fledgling vampire while in VtMB2 you start as an elder that is really powerful. Combat system is awesome because it supports how powerful Phyre is. Clawing is the most basic attack which I see most gamers doing and is a waste of Phyre's true power. Phyre has Jedi/Sith/Dark Phoenix like powers. Pulling your opponents with telekinesis off buildings is fun and being stuck in a room full of guns is even more fun. Stealth is well balanced. If you try to sneak by another vampire they will catch on to you faster than a human that doesn't have a clue you're there. The story is top quality with brilliant dialogue. Fabien's Malkavian dialogue steals the show. He had me laughing so hard I had tears rolling out of my eyes. VtMB continuity is upheld here for West coast North America. The Masquerade has been preserved with Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2. This is the first review I have ever posted for a game because no game has been more perfect than this one. I believe developers should polish and squash bugs completely before releasing a game. I thank The Chinese Room with my money at full price because this game is worth it.
