Los Angeles always had a thriving night life but no one really knows what lurks behind the glittering lights and seedy nightclubs. While mortals live their normal lives, clans of vampires conspire and scheme to further their own mysterious goals. As a newly-sired vampire, you are put to trial by the Prince of the city for your sire’s wrongdoings. A lone voice spares you from the Final Death and you become a pawn in the Prince’s plans.
Traverse the dark world of modern-day Los Angeles in Troika’s swan song, Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. Visit raves and explore the secret underground caverns of Downtown to seedy hotels and exclusive mansions on Hollywood’s infamous Sunset Strip. Embark on a variety of story-driven quests as you explore an open world filled with side missions, multiple paths, and strange denizens to interact with. Yours is a living world, even though you cease to be.

I cant believe I never knew about this game. Unbelievable how many options this game gives you. It took me close to 40hrs to complete it. Yes its a good game, not its not perfect. I liked how the story takes a turn depending on your decisions. The melee is okay, but the gunplay sucks. I wish it was better, and not have to rely so much in upgrading it. But this game is more for the adventure. Every quest and side quest's are unique. It never does those same fetch boring or dragged quests games such as assassings creed odyssey does. Here the side quests feel as good as witcher 3 side quests feel. So awesome how there is even boss fights. My only complain is I wishe it would have been open world, and the gunplay. Other than that, the story, the quests, the freedom of choice, as well as the powers you can get, are awesome!
This game has many positive things: graphics, story, music and gameplay are really good. If you are a Vampire: The Masquerade fan, you will love the atmosphere and recreation of the world. BUT the game is flawed. Why? Because for the first paet of the fame you resolve situations in different way: stealth, charisma, violence, wisdom... But when the story is near the end you'll need fight, fight and fight. In some ways it is like if you have two different game philosophies in the same game.
At this point, you've probably heard plenty about this game. So, allow me to go over some pointers for the modern gamer:
AGED WELL:
There are games that have aged fantastically, and remain thoroughly enjoyable (Max Payne 1); and, there are games that have not (Morrowind). This is one of the former. While the combat could certainly use just one single thing to improve it - BLOCKING - the majority of the gameplay has the well-aged trademarks of most Source games: From the stealth, to the skills, to the dialogue, most of the game plays like a dream. And, most importantly: Playing this game in 2022, it seems as if all the bugs have been fixed!!!
MANY FACETS:
A great deal of the game is spent using passive abilities outside of combat, and as such, your non-combat skills are seriously useful. The line between action and calm is blurred enough that you won't feel like you're jumping back and forth between segments of each. Not only that, but the overall balance and the non-linear structure give you all the agency you could want.
GOOD WORDS:
It's easy to see a widening decline in the writing of video games, many of which have now become a contrived, derivative, or hyper-aware mess that lack style or concept. Even more so than other classic games, Bloodlines takes characterization to heart. With a cast of thoroughly entertaining and well-voiced weirdos, there is a serious allure to exploring dialogue and quests that you'll find will drive you to explore all those hidden nooks.
So, that's V:M-B. If you're thinking about getting this game, you should get it. If you've got it in your library, you should play it. If you haven't tried it yet, you'll love it.
For bonus points, once you've played a bit and got the hang of things, try a no-reload run (One save file, no reloading unless you die). Escewing the consequences of your actions is a great way to miss a lot of this game, and add that sense of caution and tension that is core to the Vampire: Masquearade experience.
So Activition-Blizzard in their wild strike of great decission released the game at the same day as HL2
this throw entire studio under the bus and force Authors of 3 great games to outright look for another job
Cruelty and incompetence of this company must stop and this game Deserved a lot better
However 20 years later with Unofficial Patch Plus game is finally fun to play and decently finished
Facial animations looks better in this junk than in some of the modern games (not boomer take, i m honest)
Gameplay is kind of fun, game is very hard at the beginning and very easy once you get good
how do you get good? SPAM F near every human enemy
Sneaking works only at very high levels
Guns works only in lategame
Intimidation and Seduction are weak, unless you play as lady
Inspection is insulting and outright unfair - spend points to collect things easier...
Every skill have its place and use in the world
Game is very similar to mass effect in a way that you chose one of the pre-existing pathes and enjoy the ride
This game is possibly best adaptation of Table Top Vampires in the game EVER MADE
YOUR MONEY WILL LAND IN BLIZZARD POCKETS
Buy on sale or after they pay for their crimes!
I went on this journey (because it really is quite a journey!) already very famliliar with Vampire: the Masquerade and White Wolf's World of Darkness RPG world. I'm not really a computer gamer, however, and I was looking for an immersive story rather than a technical gaming challenge. This game offers both.
World of Darkness is a very rich game setting, and this game captures it rather well. The intrigue, the manipulation, the deception and the moral ambiguity are all there, and despite the fact that this feels like an FPS a lot of the time, your decisions carry weight, not least when dialogue is concerned.
On the down side this is a somewhat buggy and glitchy game. When this, and the "technical" shooter/fighting challenge felt rather too much, I still couldn't stop as the narrative was really engaging. I used a few walkthroughs and cheated my way out of a few situations just to experience the story.
For fans of World of Darkness I can't recommend this game highly enough!
