Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™

With the announcement of Bloodlines 2, I wanted to try out the first game from 2004 - and I'm glad I did! The characters are amazingly nuanced and lively - From Smiling Jack to La Croix, all of these characters bring something a little special to the game and your own intereactions with them. Plus the quiz at the beginning of a new game you can take - such a cool idea! I got Toreador. It's a great game, the combat is a little meh but apparently that'll be revamped in the next one. Give this a go!

Political intrigue and blood feuds among modern-day vampire mafia-like families. Memorable characters (ah, the Twins) and places (ah, the Manor), great writing and plot (albeit weaker in the second half)! Also, works very nicely with Wine, for all of us non-Windows users. Just don't forget to install the latest unofficial patch by Wesp, which fixes loooots of bugs that the developers didn't have the opportunity to fix when the company went down.

This game is by far the best game of this genre. Till this day I haven't found one that manages to create the same atmosphere of suspense, gloom and humor as this one does. I can only agree with the other reviewers. Everything that is brilliant about this game has been described here and I can't think of anything that could be criticized about the meanwhile patched version... well of course I would want to spend more time with Beckett or have LaCroix as my lapdog, but you can't have everything, can you? ;-) +good if not realistic graphics for a game from 2004 +intuitive controls +best voice actors +well written characters +several character creating choices +many different story paths and choices +well defined leveling system +fine weapons, skills and combat system +dark atmosphere +humor +Beckett :-P Would buy this game (as I have before) over and over again!

Ive waited 16 years to play this game ever since i watched it on G4 and let me tell you it was well worth the wait. i am proud that my fisrt PC gameing experince was VTMB.

15 years ago when i played the game for first time, it was a blast! So many quests, so many options in the character development, so much difference which clan you have chosen (and you must try Malkavian playthrough) Now...in 2020 the game still looks nice enough, the quests and story are still good, but we have seen a lot better of both. Anyway, i would still recomend the game to anyone who loves RPG or is willing to learn more about the "World of Darkness" before Bloodlines 2 hit the stores Prost: - Good story - Graphich are good (for 2004 game) - Great music and sound effects - Enough reasons to play the game two or three times Cons: - Ranged combat is really strange, most guns are weak. Also good luck hitting something with the sniper rifle. Compared to them, melee weapons are OP - A bit buggy, crashed few times on Win 10. Also i had few FPS drops even if i am using 2080 - It seems (as all Troika games) that the developers have rushed the release. This is clearly visible in the end of the game, last two or three battles are unbalanced, the last quests are kinda bland - Some of the voice actors aren't really good
