Good physics based puzzler.

I don't care much for arbitrary puzzlers - but this mostly physics based puzzler was quite fun. The environment was very nice/atmospheric - as was the subtle music and sound fx. I only had to consult a walk-through once which is a plus in my book. I hate arbitrary puzzles with non-logical solutions - but this had none of that. I found myself wanting a better global explanation for what had just happened after I finished, but it leaves something to think about. Note - there are at least 2 endings that I've seen - and I think the two possible endings I've seen will give you insight as to what the game is trying to communicate. Bottom Line: It's worth a play in an afternoon or two.

Unmechanical

This great game is way underestimated. It has a very deep story line if you have the patience to understand it. I play it over and over, and end it depending how I feel at the time. The 'robot' is kidnapped and forced into service because the 'janitor' is doing such a lousy job! The messy janitor is mean to the little hero who is willing to help whoever needs it. The great mystery is how important is the heart to the planet? Does our hero give himself back into service for the good of the heart or wash his hands of the whole deal and escape. This game is dripping with personality plus!

A good game

If you like light puzzle games with are you will like this. It's very, very light on the storytelling side, but very atmospheric. At times the atmosphere made me think me of Abe's Oddysee, Limbo and even Portal, Primordia and Little Big Planet. Puzzles, although they are not linked to the "plot" per se, never feel superficial. They are thought out and will reward you with a feeling of accomplishment when you complete them. I usually get stuck in puzzle games waiting for the realization to slap me, but with this game it seems I spent just the right amount of time thinking. Not too much, not too little. It is short though. I completed the game in two sessions of two hours, and the ending feels a bit anticlimactic. But nevertheless, I felt this was money well spent. If it was longer, it would require more story to avoid getting repetitive. They could've expanded a bit on certain mechanic I won't spoil, but all in all, this game delivers.

An excellent puzzle game

Unmechanical is a platform physics puzzle game. As a little floating robot you move around a weird environment, an inspired mix of rock, steel, and flesh. The controls are simple: move and use your tractor beam to lift or drag some items or enable switches. To open passages, in order to move from one place to the other, you need so solve various kind of puzzles. Usually there are no obvious hints how to solve each riddle, but with some thinking everything makes sense. In the game are no luck-based or random puzzle. Besides the robot main character is indestructible, so you do not have to worry about anything than the puzzles. So if you like scratching your head and platformers you will love this game. The only flaw? It is really short.

Great Game ... Too Short.

This is a fantastic game as far as graphics and gameplay go, but it is also an extremely short game. The puzzles are somewhat challenging and very imaginative, but the game itself only took my about two complete hours to finish. If you are going to judge a game by it's graphics and gameplay alone I would have given it five stars, but this game lost a star for the replay value and length.
