Very good experience
Despite the rather overly large fan hype, it's a pretty good game. Story-wise, it's got some pretty good writing, and while interaction with the characters is rather limited over the course of the game, they certainly leave an impression. Gameplay-wise, it's a mix of RPG and bullet-hell, which is thankfully forgiving enough if you're not used to bullet hell games, but provides a decent challenge as you continue to play. The soundtrack in the game is also amazing, some of the best video game music I've ever heard. My only complaint with Undertale is that it feels a bit short. It took me around 12 hours to complete the game, but it may be even shorter if you're adept at bullet-hell games. Replayability value isn't exactly there either. Still, it's a very good experience the whole way through. If you do decide to pick this game up however, difficult as it may be, please do your best to avoid spoilers to get the best experience.

Best Game Ever!
Though I have not played the game personally, I have seen many play throughs, and I have fallen in love with the game itself. I actually cosplay as the characters frequently, as I am cosplaying as Chara now. The timeline, story, and characters are so real and relate-able, I can't see anyone disliking the game. Definitely on MY wishlist. The soundtrack is amazing as well! Great job Toby!

You are the character
I'm going to emphasize things other reviews have not, if you're still on the fence. YOU are the character. No, I don't mean the avatar on the screen. I mean YOU. As such, all of your choices matter not only in the gameworld, but to yourself. In that, Undertale is probably one of the most immersive RPG you'll ever play. Oh, and its charming, original, has 3 very different branching endings with minor changes based on decisions, engaging combat, atmospheric music, and tons of Easter Eggs if you look. Get it.
