Similar to Magical Drop and Money Puzzle Exchanger, Under Contract will focus on modernizing the trimmings by delivering an extensive campaign, expansive puzzle variety, dimension sprawling narrative, and all the extra modes you could ever want.
Meet Richard, your average college dropout with only a few dollars to his name. Desperate for a job doing *whatever* He lands an interview at the office of Souverain Industries VLLC. Unlucky for him they seem to be hiring just about anyone with a soul! From the moment his name was etched onto that dotted line his world shrank to the size of a four-walled cubicle. Forced to navigate a stressful dead-end job by day and a demonic hellscape by night, he is ‘conmagically’ obligated to work even as he sleeps. Talk about a dream job.
The dreamscape offers Richard a chance at salvation. By navigating skillfully around the demonic gems that control his body’s every sleeping moment, he breaks his chains and begins climbing up the ranks in order to free himself from damnation!

This is scratching that HuniePop itch for sure, fun puzzles, easy mechanics to learn, pretty waifus, decent animations as well! Impressive but just needs a few additions / tweaks to really knock it out of the park...
- Some kind of gallery to replay the fun scenes
- Faster traversal of the overworld map (the small delay between each movement is a little tiring)
- Faster scene transitions (the work cabinet door opening animation can go like twice as fast)
It's a good short game, I completed it in 7h.
The story is simple but acceptable, a parody of the stressful work on a office, having to deal with bad peers and abusive superiors. Curiously, at firms it seemed to be a BDSM where MC would be subdued, gladly it turns to be the opposite.
Gameplay is very weak, but as we're flooded with VNs sadly any gameplay is a must.
Animations are still good, but I was expecting more. Nothing is voiced, they just recorded a few emotion-expressing sounds and repeat them on specific moments. I had the impression that all girls are voiced by the same person.
Some animations seem to be video playback, most of them are ran realtime. Amount of polygons is good, but textures are very simple and there's a lot of failing colisions. The final boss is specially bad, her head is too big making her look like a doll.
SFW scenes aren't animated, characters stay still with a position for each emotion. NSFW scenes are animated, but animations are a couple secs constantly repeating.
At first the peer girls seemed good, but sadly there's no character development and each girl has only 1 animation.
At least they didn't make the game grindy, so we don't have to waste time on repeated boredom.

The playable content quality is roughly what you can expect from an indie title.
New Ideas. Quality is still developing. Impression is that it's the work of fresh graduates.
But it has the right angle.

That's basically it, it's a good game. The match three is done will and throws in some fun twists to keep it interesting. The story has the approprite tone, It knows what it is and it's leaning into it, for the better by my count. It's not hilarious, but some of the lines will make you chuckle. The sex, is also done well, again, better than in most lewd games. And you the game would still be pretty decent without it. Which, you can turn it off if you want. All and all this is a surprising little gem and they are still activly devloping it. So changes are it will get even better (though, I've seen it go the other way too)
The one issue I'd call out is a technical one. It seems like the cut scenes and just loading in general is hard for it to do. It seems like it talkes longer than it should, and my fan starts kicking in so it's chewing up more resorces than it probably should. But it's not a major issue. I did have it glitch out on me and refuse to load whatever it was trying to load, kept getting stuck in a black screen I'd mess with the controller and it'd ask if I want to skip the cut scene, I'd say yes, but was still stuck in a black screen. When I killed the game and returned, it did not save the last two nodes I had cleared. But outside of that, it's been fine.
It's worth checking out if you are into lewds games, this is one of the better examples of such.
I bought this game without knowing it was a lewd game and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of gameplay. The lewd scenes are fun, and the writing is charming. The game lacks some quality of life features at the moment given its currently-in-development status but makes up for it in gameplay features.
Can't wait to play Department 2.
