was waiting for this one to show up

One thing that you'll hear most about this game is - not original but entertaining. you can easily find good gameplay elements of all the popular rts of its time blended in. but it is blended in nicely and they wrapped it up with their original leveling up system. results were very entertaining. the hero units have personality and add a lot to the games charm. this game is not shy to try and please an rts fan. as satifying as a bucket of fried chicken and a large soda pop.

Definitely not a relaxing RTS

Not sure what to say about this game, I absolutely loved to play the demo so I was happy to buy the full game. First missions were good along with the story, I decided to play on Normal which was a bit mistake. Later on the game because super difficult, not because of challanging AI as the devs say, but due to various bugs that prevent you from executing your strategy: - Horrible pathfinding - Units freuquently ignore orders and get randomly stuck - Units block each other, pathfinding in groups is really bad. - Limit for how many units you can select (omg are we back in Warcarft 2 time? This game came out in 2000! ) - In some levels you face 3 players. Because you have pop limit of 200 it is very hard to outplay. At some point in the game the AI just starts constantly streaming units at your base. When you have bigger army and there is more happing on the map the biggest problem is not the fight but to manage your units that are randomly running around the map and chasing enemies that are hidden far in the fog of war. This way you can lose very valuable units quickly because they decide Overall I am quite dissapointed :-(

Warcraft 2 on steroids

Tzar took everything fun about Warcraft 2 and pumped it up. There's a huge selection of units for each side, unit experience, building upgrades, sturdy defensive walls, siege weapons, magic, and even training dummies for idle troops. The AI is ruthless and will send large armies your way as soon as it can. I'd forgotten about pathfinding, and although large numbers of units can get stuck on each other, I don't remember it being worse than other RTS pathfinding from that era. If you still enjoy Warcraft 2, I can't imagine you'd hate this one. It isn't up to modern standards, but it's an excellent fantasy RTS all the same.

A "burden" for many hours in my youth!

I have my favorite RTS games and this one belong to my old collection too! Those where the days I have lost countless of hours playing this awesome game in my youth. Was and is still addictive today... I really have nothing against this game, made at a time when RTS games were perfect and just made for computers and not cell phones like these days... If you love a good GOG and you don't know this one, you should have a try!

It's ok, neither good or bad

Gormp allready wrote about the "good side" of the game and left only the flaws for me ;) 1.Bad Pathfinding, Units get stuck often and you have to order every few steps to avoid it. 2.No Formations 3.Each Unit within a group move with their normal speed instead the speed of the slowest unit Not gamebreaking, but, at least for me, nothing it more annoying then stupid! babysitting, like being forced to split your force into tiny groups, but only of the the same kind, and lead them step by step through every narrow passage, angeled spaces...
