Description
At the beginning of your epic adventure, a mercenary mission takes you to the far north - but you’re also following up a mysterious lead at the same time – the first clue you’ve been given since Kyra’s disappearance. You're shocked during a meeting with the delegates of a dark Brotherhood - your sister’s kidnappers are indeed after your family’s relic. Whether there’s any truth in your family being the chosen ones or not, the others obviously believe it - and if you ever want to see Kyra again, you’ll have to act swiftly. You are the only person able to unlock the secrets of a dead god's tomb, and all the forces in the land want your help to seize its power.

  • Includes the original Two Worlds along with two expansions - Tainted Blood and Curse of Souls
  • A vast and diverse world to explore, brought to life by the game's impressive visuals
  • A well-told and gripping story with an abundance of side quests

Good but flawed.

Two Worlds is a good game with some deep production flaws. The controls are awkward in general, and combat is unresponsive. In melee combat you just end up mashing the left mouse button and hoping you hit something. Ranged combat works better. The graphics suffer from annoying amounts of level of detail popping, but this is only to be expected from a game that came out in 2007 and uses the SpeedTree RT middleware. Despite this, I found the environments to be very beautiful and evocative. The voice acting is terrible. Thankfully it can be muted. The writing is even worse. It's like a 12-year old trying too hard to write Shakespearean dialog: an overdose of 'twas, pray tell, mayhap, prithee, forsooth, and verily. The main quest is not very interesting, but works as an excuse to visit the corners of the wold to explore and do the much more interesting side quests. The character you play is an insufferable idiot in all conversations, especially in the main quest.

Mediocre game

Lets start with the good things: A huge open-world experience - could easily sink 60+hours there if you want to complete everything Tons of items/loot, and decent skills progression gives the player a real sense of progress - monsters which easily beat you at earlier levels become a pushover! A decent soundtrack (not a great one though) good variety of special skills/spells And now for the not so good points: Awful dialogue - I think the developers' first language was not English. Forsooth, methinks olde English style the developers verily tried for (yep, the dialogue often sounds like this in the game!). This made the mediocre plot even more tedious. THe voiceacting is also very flat. Boring landscape and environment - not helped by graphics that seemed dated even at its time. Compare this with TES:Morrowind and you will know what I mean . . . Really clunky combat system, especially on horseback, but even for melee. Archery system isn't bad with the auto-aim, but that's about it. . . Buggy quests that won't update properly Repetitive fetch-this-kill-that-return-for-reward quests. Under-powered magic system (except for perhaps healing), though it does seem interesting Overall I won't recommend buying this unless it's steeply discounted. This game doesn't come close to genre-defining classics like Morrowind or even the more mediocre Gothic 3, though I can tell it draws inspiration from these titles.

One of the BEST RPG's to date!!!

Two Worlds is one of the best and most beautiful RPG games available to date IMO. Even today it shines above the rest! It is as ambitious and polished as Oblivion and has better features than any other RPG out there. The best feature IMO, is that you can stack the same kind of weapons and armor to increase their stats! I have not seen this done in any other game quite like this. It is a brilliant way to upgrade weapons and armor. You can also pay (in-game money) to get your stats reset in case you want to retry a different character build. It has tons of dungeons to explore, and many places to visit. They don't rehash textures so many places look different. Unlike Oblivion where every building and town looked the same! Many of the creatures you fight have different stats so be careful when taking down enemy fortresses! That one Orc with that cool armor is probably an officer or worse, a Chief! It's a full fledged RPG with ALL the bells & whistles! It is a HUGE open world to explore. Every time you level up you can feel yourself grow stronger. I has many types of creatures to fight and just feels like the game was made with A LOT of love! Skyrim might be better, but this game has features even than game doesn't have! I whole heartedly recommend this game to anyone looking for a HUGE open world RPG game that is simply one of the BEST IMO! It runs flawlessly on my Mac with maxed out settings. No crashes or hiccups! Hardware Overview: Model Name: MacBookPro 11,5 (Mid 2015) Processor Name: Intel Core i7 Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 6 MB Memory: 16 GB Type: DDR3 Speed: 1600 MHz Video Card: AMD Radeon R9 M370X, VRAM 2048 MB Operating System: OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6 (64 bit OS)

I love this game

as the title says. i was one who bought this game many years ago on cd rom. years later i wanted to play it again, but i could not get it to work proper. somewhere deep down on the internet i found this well hidden email i then wrote to. just 2 days later i got a mail back with a link to a download of a patch. then it worked again without further hassle. later again, more specifically last year i wanted to buy this game for my new system, since it has no cdrom drive, and to show my support of this incredible game, and so i did from steam. but i never got it to work assumingly because of steams DRM, as i remember the cdrom was somewhat a fragile .exe. now that steam seems to have taken a good portion of my games and made them impossible to play, costing me thousands i decided to give GOG a go. this is my first purchase on GOG, and i already like the fact your bought games is YOURS. (had so many debates on steam about this)being an oldschool gamer who remembers how games used to be sold to you, and you had a physical media, you could install or uninstall at will whenever you wanted too. i seriously miss that in gaming today. i just wanted to went that out because i really missed to play this game for some years now. this was an untraditional review. but i hope it gets to stay around. because others might want to know too, that this game is truly EPIC. and awesome quality music goes along with it. thank you again to the developer who sent me that update many many moons ago. that was totally cool so many years after the initial release. regards a big fan.
