Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy

If you've played any previous Trine game you know what to expect. It's very much in the same formula. But it's polished, controls well, and better graphics than I originally thought. It's an excellent co-op game. My niece and I enjoy playing the series together quite a bit. The tone is much that of a children's fairy tale and is well suited to all ages. Gameplay is primarily that of a puzzle/platformer with a little bit of combat. It's a quality product at a reasonable price. I recommend it.

Initial impriessions are that it's colourful, magical, and wonderful. In other words, a Trine game. Our three heroes are back in another storybook adventure, seamlessly integrating their very different abilities in combat and puzzles. It has that rare Nintendo-esque quality of creating satisflyingly simple gameplay which rewards curiosity through experimentation and intuition. Married with a perfectly whimsical soundtrack and gorgeous levels that invite the player through just to see what what amazing visual treat comes next.

I love to play it with my children. The Level design and the physics are outstanding. Only Trine3 was with the 3D-graphic could not hold the level. Trine 5 has a terrible support for gamepads and you need them to play CoOp. The support for only one type of Pad (MS) is irritating. The support for game-pads broken and the one that works is hard to deal with. Trine 1 and 2 deliver a better experience concerning a local CoOp-game.

I was very pleasantly surprised. Having played the previous 4 games it was nice to see a very solid performer here. Perhaps the best one in the entire series (although the story was a little weak). It seemed like they made the puzzles a little harder on this one which was a great choice as you actually had to think a bit. I played on coop and we had a great time. It offers a good amount of gameplay and took close to 20 hours to finish the campaign. Highly recommended.
