The year is 1989 and deep in the sweltering heat of the Mayan jungle, camouflaged among the Inca ruins, Ernesto Cruz catches his breath for a few moments and admires his handiwork, bodies strewn across the temple ruins, as he makes a last gasp effort to board a DEA plane to take him to safety. He never made it home, the tragic victim of an alleged 'overdose’. Two weeks later, Ernesto's son, Ramiro Cruz is hauled out of jail by the DEA to be told his twin brother, Tommy, works for them as an undercover agent and has some new information about their father's death. But, Tommy has had an accident with a hand grenade and now Ramiro must take his brother's place in an undercover operation closing in on the ruthless drug cartel overlord Papa Muerte.
Take control of Ramiro Cruz, a man on a crazy mission through Mexico's drug-fuelled underworld. An amazing combat system keeps the action intense, mixing third person action with an incredible combo system for maximum carnage - and maximum replayability. Hilarious special moves and a huge amount of weaponry makes Total Overdose as frantic and fun an adventure as you could ever hope to find, and a red-hot latin soundtrack fits the action perfectly. This can be the perfect Latino gangsta sandbox game you were looking for all your life!
A rich storyline as it takes you through 18 different environments, from the seedy red light district of Los Toros to the depths of the Mexican desert.
Take down your enemies with a free-style combat and stunt system that gives you more outrageous moves than you can shake a hot chili at.
Meet über-cool characters and take part in missions with a strong whiff of tequila.

I love this game, so much nostalgia, very good soundtrack .. the only thing that disappoints me is that I can't use more resolutions .. anyway the game is worth playing 10/10
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. It is about 20 h long gun-fu GTA without the Mission Failed padding of the GTA & Saints Row at the time. It makes the boring gunplay fun by giving you John Woo style moves and a combo system that encourages wasting dozens of people in rapid succession. There is no artificial difficulty, meaning that you can complete most missions and challenges with your first try. That is good because most of the content is a mere setting for the gun play acrobatics. The simple controls make pulling of the moves very easy and fun. Try it yourself as controls have to be experienced personally.
It is a game from a small, dead developer, which is why a lot of GTA style side content is absent and the sandbox can be summarized with moving cars and people. The carrying thought is "this would be very boring in GTA." The few really annoying parts are the racing challenges (vastly easier than the GTA counterparts) and the last couple of missions that are super long and involve open spaces with enemies shooting at you with high-damage rifles from far away or insta-killing you with grenades.
Because of the combo system, your main focus at all times is locating the next enemy to slay to refresh to combo expiration timer. Very often the first thing you see of enemies is a grenade or a bazooka rocket in your face - the reaction times with the late mission enemies is insanely short
There is a Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time style (time) Rewind, with which you can rewind the gameplay IF you die. You mostly use it to get past the segments where your health is low and accidentally killing yourself. The "bullet time" automatically activates when gun-fu-ing as long as you have ever-regenerating adrenaline for it. You can practically bullet time most the big fights. Finally there are the limited-use Loco Moves that pretty much let you kill everyoine in the room super fast. Except for the human bull one that is mostly useless. A lot of stuff for a small-studio game.
I like this game so much when I 13-year-old this game is a great action open world and bullet time and I think the Disadvantage is
-physic in this game is so terrible sometimes make me to cannot finish a mission
-driving in this game not smooth
I recommend this game for people who want to buy a cheap game with worth.
It's a semi-sandbox action game with bad one-liners and insane power-ups. And the music! Various urban upbeat styles (metal, hip-hop and more) in Spanish by Molotov, Deliquent Habits and Control Machete.
The only way this could be any more of a recommendation is if the game came with a licensed soundtrack in the goodies (a man can dream).
