Tormentum: Dark Sorrow

Tormentum: Dark Sorrow was a good experience. The games art style is amazing and the dark moody atmosphere really connected with me. The graphics are very impressive and every screen looks like it could be put in a frame and displayed at and art exhibition. The game itself is sort of an old-school adventure point-and-click adventure game, at little like Myst, but the with difference that the puzzles require very little lateral thinking. Most of the time it is very obvious which objects goes where and which order the different tasks should be approached. Occasionally mini puzzle games (like jigsaws, sliding 15-puzzles, a match pairs memory game, etc.) and while they are enjoyable they are also fast to solve. This isn't a challenging game, more of an experience to enjoy in a single sitting or two. The story is intriguing and revealed both through text, images and a series of moral dilemmas, and it leads to multiple endings, and I was hooked enough to replay the game to see what would happen if I had made different choices. A good game, especially for the amazing art style and atmosphere

It really depends on your priorities but if you value those things in this order 1) atmosphere 2) fun 3) ...all the other things Then this game is for you, period. The amount of work in this game, the visuals the dialogs and so on is really overwhelmingly great! Some counterarguments for the other comments: As others wrote the puzzles are not challenging but they are FUN! The story is contrary what others say is great, there is nothing revolutionary but if you want a some super elaborate story read a book! Some people say it is short, I say it is NOT LONG, I mean you can finish it in a few hours but what counts is the experience, I would rather spend 3 hours having fun, relax and get inspired by some title like this rather than spend days on some other title that in the end bring me mostly frustration

A short adventure game where simple puzzles are there for the sake of progressing the story forward, uncovering its message to you slowly. It is done in a consistent way, and sooner or later the story gimmick can be understood. It was too late for me to fix a couple of choices I've failed earlier, but the conclusion I reached only gives me a reason to replay the game on a good path. Looks amazing, even if the performance can hitch for you once or twice. Sounds great, too. Short, concise experience.

I love the art style, walking around looking closely at the details. The story about punishment in the afterlife is elaborate. Get ready for eternal damnation or salvation.
