Tormentum: Dark Sorrow

I highly enjoyed my time with Tormentum. The art and the atmosphere really sold me the game and kept me entertained the whole way through. The only issue is how short and easy it is. I was able to see 100% of the content in 5 hours spent across 3 playthroughs. I don't think of myself as good at point n click adventure games, so that is legitimately saying something. Definitely worth it on sale, but I don't think the base price is very good value.

I just wanted to try my new game for 5 minutes with my girlfriend next to me. I just wanted to open the first iron gate and then turn the game off again because my GF really dislike gaming. But we started thinking together and she got hooked immediately and did not want to stop playing. Now she want to play this game with me all the time to finish it up because she feel liked she's contributing even if I handle all the mouse clicking. So this is very suitable as a 2 player game (like Samorost 3 and other puzzle games). I really like the puzzle solving and the atmosphere myself as well. A really good game! I'm so happy I got her into gaming because of this game. I don't think Simon the Sorcerer or Monkey Island would have worked the same because those games are too big and requires so much try everything on everything. This is more convenient as an introduction game to the genre since it's a rather small world with more concrete puzzles and more logic is included and you feel more smart when solving a puzzle in Tormentum then combining a rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle. A must try for fans of the genre.

This is definitely a nice showcase for concept art, you could even call this a elaborate demo. But a game ? no, not to the initial price, do not buy this to full price! Wait for deep sale if the games promo material makes you curious. The story and puzzle elements are VERY basic, a lot of inspiration from everywhere but it really goes nowhere and then finishes off with half-assed redemption arc. I am giving this art-demo 3 stars because i bought in deep sale, i only lost time... I can recommend just watch Alien again if you need a geiger fix and if a dark semi surreal puzzle game is needed, then Sanitarium is available right here on GoG!

The game is definitely distinguishing itself within the point&click adventure genre with its excellent horror/grotesque graphics. This part of the game still does not overshadow several serious issues with the game play this title has: 1) The story is mehhhh. Not really engaging. You are thrown in some place and must get out of it to get to some place that supposed to be important but you don't know really why. This is it. 2) The puzzles are simple, very simple. Not intuitive but really, really simple. The difficulty level is even lower than puzzles in "Lost Lands" on your mobile. I was quite disappointed by that. 3) Morality system for the bad/good ending... to be honest it is again so simplified that you cannot go wrong here. It is an interesting mechanics but one could make it less obvious. Now it is, as somebody here worte, bland. 4) The game is really short. I have finished it in ~3h... . If you value mony for time spent wait for some 80% discount on this title. 5) A feeling of an android port to PC is just overwhelming

it was good while it lasted defenetly worth my money and time, I did enjoy it. also, great artwork and fun game not to hard not to easy although a little more on the easy side then on the hard side, could have used more puszzels and better story.
