Description
Between our world and the world beyond lie the Titan Souls, the spiritual source and sum of all living things. Now scattered amongst the ruins and guarded by the idle titans charged with their care, a solitary hero armed with but a single arrow is once again assembling shards of the Titan Soul in a quest for truth and power.
  • Colossal Titans: Explore the ancient ruins of your forefathers and uncover extraordinary and unique titans, each with their own savage attacks and hidden weakness. Find and exploit their faults to slay the beasts and consume the primeval power that lies within them.
  • Simple Combat: Loose your solitary arrow at the monstrous titans and summon it back to your hand to unleash another forceful strike. Dash and run from the titan’s attacks but do not fear death, as it is both inevitable and plentiful in Titan Souls.
  • Arcane Secrets: This realm is not without its secrets. Long forgotten titans are hidden in the shadows and prowling through the furthest corners of the land – find them, destroy them, and take their souls for your own to discover the true extent of the power that resides here.

Every boss is daunting at first but once you get around the limitations given to you, you regain your focus and the desire to overcome the ultimate obstacle: your weakness. When you finally destroy a titan, you might find yourself being washed over by a kind of a bliss that only comes from pure gaming.

Great game...but I wish there was more

Good: - The soundtrack is varied and absolutely beautiful. Even after completing the game, I still find myself humming some of the tracks. - The scenery is gorgeous. It's very reminiscent of Shadow of the Colossus. It did my nostalgia bones good, but it stands on its own too. - The controls are tight IF you use a gamepad - Each boss is unique, tactically and ascetically. I was always excited to see what the next boss would look and act like - It's hard as nails. Both you and each boss die within a single hit. You must hit the boss in the right spot while dodging their attacks. Most bosses took at least a dozen tries, sometimes many more. That can be bad or good depending on who you are, just keep it in mind. Bad: - Keyboard controls are really bad and you can't rebind them. Don't play this if you don't have a gamepad. Just don't. - Fights tend to be really anticlimactic. Usually you either die shortly into the fight, or you kill them right off. The boss's are generally pretty interesting and the accompanying music is great, but I never had time to take it in. I had a good time, but I wish there was more. It took me about 7 hours to get to the credits, but I still have a few bosses to go back to. That will probably take me another few hours. I consider it money well spent, but if you're someone who expects more time for their money, it may not be for you. Overall, Titan Souls does what it does pretty well, but the visuals and audio are so stunning that I wish there was more to it. If were larger and had a more fleshed out story, it could have been truly remarkable, but as it stands it's just GOOD.

2D Shadow of the Colossus

In a word, stunning. Titan souls is one of those games that comes around every once in a while that gets me. Solid controls, beautiful soundtrack, and frightening depth. You are dropped in to a world of 1. You have 1 arrow, you die in 1 hit and every boss dies in one hit. The challenge comes from the bosses being big scary bastards with hidden weakpoints. You the silent tumbling child must brave the wilderness and defeat the titans with only your wit's an arrow and quickload platforms. But the story really isn't about you, or what story there is to be had. Very much like Team Ico's Shadow of the Colossus, most of the story is going on around you subtly and nearly exclusively by wall carvings. But Titan souls isn't here to tell you a story, its here to set a mood and then kill you. Over, and Over and Over again. Each Titan is entirely separate from the last and each has its own unique way to murder you and to be murdered. And while figuring out where you need to stick your arrow is easy, its the getting there that will kill you. The bosses are equal parts puzzle and simple reaction combat. You have your arrow. You shoot your arrow, you can pull your arrow back to you. and you Roll like a tumbleweed in a spagetti western (all over the damn place). And it's surprising the amount of things they are able to do with such simple mechanics. The bottom line is, This game does what it does very, very well and I have basically no complaints. If you really need a point of contention is that if you're good or have seen a Lets Play of it. You should be able to knock this game out in a weekend if not an afternoon. Not necessarily for lack of content, just somethign you wont put down. There are extra game modes for that though so... yay.

Soul of Collosus, Heart of Dark Souls

Do you remember when you first played Shadow of the Colossus? Do you remember when you died in Dark Souls ? Well this game perfectly takes the soul and feeling of Colossus and infuses it with brutal and ruthless gameplay. Is it all good ? No. But guess what. The game has one of the most beautiful simplistic pixel designs which are reminiscent of SOTC but still totaly unique in its own right. The bosses are beautifuly sculptured and have a soul of their own (no pun intended). The music oh the music. I can listen to it when i go to sleep, walk through the forest, climb a mountain or....fight a giant titan. Its just so beautiful. What about the gameplay ? Well its responsive so every death is on you. The only gripe i have with it is that keyboard and mouse users get the short stick in this bargain. The game was meant to be played with a controller and it shows. But no worries the game is also fun with mouse and keyboard. The whole one arrow one hit kill seemed quite cheap to me at first. But after carefull consideration and gameplay i started feeling it. Its unique , its combat is deep and its helluva rewarding. So do I recommend the game ? Yes i do. Yes i do. Its an experience that i will never forget and i believe many of you may not. Its the feeling i got when i first booted up SOTC. So pick it up. Have fun. Get frustrated. Quit. And start right back up again because this game might stop but you will always carry it in your mind and heart.
