TIS-100

It looks to be a cool little game about fixing a machine via 'programming' its 'chips'.. on first glance i have no idea how to play this, i was given a 'manual' and the 'parts' all have various arrows so this is kind-of confusing.. after reading the 'manual' im still non the wiser but thanks to google there's plenty of helpful information on this game to let me try to get into the game with still a few minor stumbles (without cheating), im sure in-time i will actually like this a tone more when i figure-out how things work. If this was a little more beginner friendly then i would score it more as its very interesting and could be quite fun to use. i look forward to other games similar to this.. maybe a cad type d.i.y. program like that old crocodile electronics one or maybe a fantasy console?.. a python/BASIC or other beginner friendly language would be appreciated. it this a good buy?.. maybe if your good at the language and understand the 'flow' of things then yes, if not it maybe quite a hard thing to get into. ------- before buying please read other comments :)

I am just writing this review to contradict another review here that basically recommended Shenzhen I/O over this one wholesale. I personally found this one incredibly engaging and addictive from start to finish, while - that much is true – looking much more unrefined and crude in comparison to the later games. But Shenzhen I/O just seems labored and lacks that little something ... just has not managed to instill *any* spark of enthusiasm in me so far, after having experienced this game, which uses minimalism and piecemeal information brilliantly. I will come back to this one again and again.

The limitations make this game really engaging. Each subsequent level requires a little more abstraction. It's taking me a little longer each time, but I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

Great game. I can leave it open at work and nobody has any idea what the hell I am doing.
