Good
I like they treated it like a real RPG game rather than a card game. Amazing work CDPR, thanks.

Witcher III Gwent's spiritual successor
The Witcher III is one of my favorite games of all time. Two aspects of that game that I liked the most were running around collecting Gwent cards and facing new opponents in Gwent and the fact that the decisions I made in game seemed to matter. Thronebreaker is completely focused on those parts. It also has a much better story than The Witcher III. This game is a new favorite of mine. Some mild criticism though: the game is still too easy on the hardest difficulty even after the patch that made it harder. The game also lags on the hardest difficulty during certain battles (mostly against Nilfgaard) when the enemy AI has to make a decision. The fantastic story is more than enough to carry the game through these problems though.

Wow!
I was slightly disappointed when I found that the next game in the Witcher universe was at heart, a card game. I bought it partly because of my faith in CDPR, but I was prepared for it to be "ok". Thankfully, my trust was not misplaced, and the game surpassed expectations to an incredible degree. Thronebreaker is an engaging, beautifully written adventure with amazing voice acting. The card mechanics are actually very fun, and the artwork and animations look stunning in 4K. Only CDPR could turn a card game into one of the most compelling RPGs since The Witcher 3! I really, really hope they make The Witcher Tales into a series.

A solid game, but way too easy
I agree that completing the game has been a pleasant experience, but would like to point out that the playstyle was too casual all the way through. Your deck composition matters little except for a couple of selected plot battles even on hardest difficulty, and I had to restart the battle barely ten times in 40 hours. The puzzles are somewhat more challenging though and hence more enjoyable. The drawing and music are very good, and the plot and characters are fine...but a long shot from the original books.

Thronebreaker better play it on gog.com
Thronebreaker is nothing more than a very good story expansion of Gwent, but you better buy and play it here on Gog.com. I bought it first on steam and there are some issues like no Gwent Rewardssystem support, achievments don't work and more. The Story of Thronebreaker is very good and I love that game more than the multiplayer part Gwent. Gwent sucks cause of no good balance at the moment and very frustrating matches against overpowered decks. Thronebreaker is much better than Gwent and it is just a expansion pack!
