Amazing Game
First and foremost, as a single player CCG the game kind of stumbles. I used the same deck almost through the whole game and really wanted to have more cards, but instead of getting new ones (which you will get, though not many) you mostly upgrade existing cards. As a result it felt pretty repetitive. The optional puzzles were often hit or miss - I either had a lot of fun or was just annoyed the whole time. But the game does do its best to make every encounter feel unique, and with its own set of factors at play that make the game feel fresh long after you thought it couldn't. The highlight of the game is not the card game elements though, but the powerful story and complex characters. In the beginning act the story seems rather run of the mill, though engaging, but as soon as Act 1 ends the real plot begins. Over the course of the game I made decisions I regretted, ones that I justified, ones that I learned later I had made the right choice for the wrong reasons, and much more. The characters, too, were an incredible part of the game. One of which is among my favorites in the Witcher universe now. The game doesn't give you too many things to discuss with companions at your camp, but they often interact with Meve over the course of events and really make their presence, and opinions, known. Consequently, they aid a lot in making the game feel dynamic and alive. Overall, a wonderful game with a wonderful plot and incredible characters. The lack of cards can make the game feel too repetitive at times, but that's not a huge issue in the grander scope of the game. P.S. More interaction with Knickers please.
