Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales

Amazing characters and story. A few twists I did not expect, absolutely gripping story. The artwork of the cards is fabulous, I found myself right clicking on enemy cards just to look at the artwork as much as read the stats. But I have to give it 3 stars for it's idiotic save system. It's one of those games that's constantly saving, and it's infuritating. More than once I rapidly clicked through some dialogue I'd already read through and accidentally picked a decision I did not mean to. Even more infurating when the game starts moralising you for your choice when you didn't even mean to click it. The card description is also lacking. E.g a card may "only effect bronze cards". How do you know if an enemy card is a bronze card? You don't, you've just got to guess. (Common cards tend to be bronze) Urgh. It's flawed. But fun card battles and amazing characters and story. It's absolutely a witcher game.

This is an absolutely amazing story-driven game. A combination of Heroes of Might and Magic gameplay and gwent battles. Fantastic atmosphere and music. I would love to see a sequel.

It is very rare to see a single player card game now are days, even less such with this high quaility standards. Best of the game is the art and narrative, it is long, cheap, and awesome game. I wish there was a second game with more campaings of the witcher lore.

After trying out Gwent first, I decided to get the single player story, and boy was I shocked. Not only do you not get to pick your faction in story, the cards are completely different from the multiplayer. While I enjoy the unlocked for multiplayer, as well as the puzzles, I do not enjoy being so limited. The story is good, but it has nothing to do with the multiplayer cards which is a let down, and you dont get to customize much.

The Steam release is 1.0.2.12 while the GoG is only 1.0.1.12, and there is a problem because of this that the game periodically thinks one and freezes while loading while the Steam release does not, I don't say that but buy the Steam release. Shouldn't we update GoG Team?
