Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics.
Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran and queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.

This game is a Gwent expansion but can be played as a standalone game with any problem.
As an expansion, it's ridiculously good, since Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine these people only gives us gold. As a standalone game, it works very well. Has a great choice system that can change the story completely from a very beginning and a bunch of great written characters. The problem may be the puzzles, some of them are ridiculously difficult, but with patience you can beat all of them (or play just the story).
Overall, is a good experience, I enjoyed it a lot.
This game adds yet another wonderful journey in our favorite gaming universe, and as usual the story telling, voice acting and presentation are absolutely amazing. The game mechanics could be a bit more balanced for experienced Gwent players since they will probably find it too easy. But for anyone like me who buys Witcher games mainly for their story and for a fun ride and doesn't mind minor issues with the gameplay (let's face it, all the Witcher games had those), this is a must buy in your collection for the lore alone. But I also found the gameplay to be a lot of fun. The main characters actually play a role in your deck, and when new ones join you or others leave, you really feel that. Are the battles sometimes too easy? Yes, but I also don't like when a story game forces me to replay a battle 10 times just so I can continue on. Card game wise it's more casual, but still a lot of fun, and story wise it's the usual CDPR excellence with choices that are actually hard and matter and characters you truly hate or fall in love with and who feel realistic in their attitudes and choices. And as usual, a lot of grey instead of black and white.
Oh and of course the presentation, voice acting, graphics and soundtrack are absolutely amazing. Nobody but CDPR would put so much value into a single player campaign for a card game. If you are a witcher fan or you enjoy fun card games that are on the casual side but make up for that with a fantastic story that you can enjoy also even if you never heard of the Witcher before, this one is for you.
I played the game normally until the end of the dwarven area, which is about midgame. And then couldn't bear the tedious gameplay anymore. I forfeited and skipped the rest of the battles until the end of the story.
The story is good and it was worth the 6 euros i paid for it overall. But I wouldn't recommend it, unless you really, really like Gwent.
