Description
Welcome to Thimbleweed Park. Population: 80 nutcases.

A haunted hotel, an abandoned circus, a burnt-out pillow factory, a dead body pixelating under the bridge, toilets that run on vacuum tubes... you’ve never visited a place like this before.

Five people with nothing in common have been drawn to this rundown, forgotten town. They don’t know it yet, but they are all deeply connected. And they’re being watched.

...Who is Agent Ray really working for and will she get what they want?
...What does Junior Agent Reyes know about a 20 year old factory fire that he’s not saying?
...Will the ghost, Franklin, get to speak to his daughter again?
...Will Ransome the *Beeping* Clown ever become a decent human being?
...Will aspiring game developer Delores abandon her dreams and stick by her family?
...And most importantly: how come no one cares about that dead body?

By the end of a long, strange night in Thimbleweed Park, all of this will be answered -- and you’ll question everything you thought you knew.

In a town like Thimbleweed Park, a dead body is the least of your problems.

Inspired by the Past, But Looking Ahead

Thimbleweed Park is a game you might have somehow missed back in 1987. Except for the voice acting. and interactive lighting. And auto-saving. And the in-game hint system. And on and on. It's a game that invites you to remember the adventure games of the past with rose-colored glasses, and never take them off. The writing is hilarious, the pixel art stunning, the puzzle difficulty just right, and the story engaging. My wife and I found ourselves talking about the story after each play session, trying to figure out where it's heading and solve the mystery on our own. Thimbleweed Park is a fantastic adventure not to be missed.

Greate adventure, more like this!

Great game, not comparable to Maniac Mansion, but great enough to give it a try. Riddles can be difficult, like the old days, and there is a lot to look and talk. Graphics are ok, and atmosphere is great. One thing why Maniac Mansion is better for me: The chars have more deepness.

Brought me back to how I remember it

I had such positive memories of some of the old adventure games that I went back and played a couple again ten or so years ago... and they don't evoke the same feeling. In fact, the experience was more of a labor of love. But this one really recreates it like I remember them! It really was fun and frustrating in that way that made me love the genre so long ago. Such a great way to spend 20+ late night hours!!!

This is how an adventure should be made!

Thimbleweed Park... ...took me around thirteen hours to drink it all in and now that it's complete, even though it gave me unparalleled closure, I want more. Not more of Thimbleweed Park necessarily, although that'd be great, just more real adventure games, like they used to make 'em. Smart, fun... and most of all making your brain actually work. Sure, if you take Thimbleweed Park apart, it has flaws. But it assures you that its flaws are there on purpose. And you believe it. And you have no problem with it. Goddamn you, Thimbleweed Park, you're the best game I've ever backed on Kickstarter, you're the best adventure game to come out in over a decade... what more can I say? I love you. I love you, Thimbleweed Park!

Nostalgia has found 2017 jetpacks

The retro graphics and controls are the only thing retro about this game. The voices are on point, the music sets a nice atmosphere and the story makes fun of itself and of the genre Adventure Games. There are definitely some good laughs in there for older and younger players alike - although you will enjoy the game a bit more if you have played the old Maniac Mansion. It's quite a long game, the puzzles are challenging (on the hardmode) and can be figured out. Meaning they are logically well designed which keeps the frustration very low. You can however obtain items to puzzles that are in later chapters of the game which confused me a bit. The end was a tiny but unsatisfying; but still - this game is a 4.5 star gane, at least in my book. I lost my heart to Adventure Games and this one is very well done. It is quirky enough to feel old and innovative enough to play fresh. Open your wallets and reboot your Commodore for the world of Thimbleweed Park.
