This game is as good now and it was then. Contemporary games could learn something from this kind of pure design.

Great fun until the latest levels
... then it becomes repetitive. I know that most of the folks who buy this, have played it before and therefore giving it a high rating, and don't get me wrong, I loved this game, but it isn't _that_ challenging, especially when it let's you "smack" every single patient that by now has filled up each cranny in the waiting room when they're full of flu and puking all over the area– and not be punished for it; the game just let you keep your business! And when I was at one of the last levels I found it too easy to get by... All the same, I did enjoy shooting the rats!!

Theme Hospital + CorsixTH = heaven
A really fun game that is so good theres even a open source remake of it called CorsixTH. CorsixTH requires the original art and music assets to work. So this is where you still need to buy it in GoG. CorsixTH will enable you to play this game on OSX, Linux and Windows with a more updated UI and updates the game to work on more modern specs. With CorsixTh you can bring up a cheat menu in Theme Hospital by typing 24328 into the fax machine. Theme Hospital is a really fun hospital sim and one of the best sim games made by Maxis.

If Video Games and Comedy Had a Baby...
I think what I love most about this game is that much of the humour and absurdity is lost on anybody who doesn't go out of the way to notice it - it feels as much as a reward to those who do take note of the little things as it adds colour and depth to the make believe world the hospital exists in. In practical terms, the game is easy in most respects, but you do need to actively monitor your hospital to prevent all hell breaking loose so while it's not especially challenging, it has more than enough within the environment to keep your attention. It's strategic elements are what draw me to it the most, where to put the rooms to keep traffic flowing, where to put the chairs to have the most effect, how many staff members do you need before you have the number you need and not too many... It's an interesting and in-depth adventure. There will never be a time when I don't enjoy this game.

Almost a great game...
This is a very entertaining game, a lighthearted take on hospital management full of crazy diseases. It is challenging and it has a lots of variety, and I think it is a must play for everyone who loves managerial games. It looked good in 1997 and it looks good in 2017 as well. The only thing that somewhat breaks the game are 3 things: 1. Earthquakes can destroy your equipment 2. Damaged equipement can explode 3. Rooms after explosion cannot be cleaned up. The first is annoying because it is present on every level. The second makes the game too micro managed. The third breaks it really, because combined with the above 2 it sucks out the fun of the game on later levels. This functionality is completely unnecessary, with this the game does not get more difficult, but more annoying. Aside from this, it is a great game and I suggest everyone to play it.
