Description
Thea 2: The Shattering is a follow-up to the successful Thea: The Awakening, which brings the idea of innovative genre hybrid, with elements of turn-based, 4X strategy, survival, RPG and a card game, to entirely new and thoroughly polished level.
The player takes on a role of a deity from the Slavic mythology-inspired pantheon and as such, controls the fate of a small flock of believers struggling for survival. This goal can be achieved in many ways, from diplomacy to war, from exploring to conquering, but any playstyle will surely lead to completely unique adventures thanks to the procedurally generated environments. Rich options, from crafting to town-building system, as well as the co-op multiplayer gameplay, make Thea 2 an ideal choice for tactically minded players, who are up for a challenge.

I don't like it
The game throws at you so many mechanics at once that no amount of hints and tutorials can help, leaving you overwhelmed. At the same time many of these mechanics are almost exact copies of each other (for example, 3 types of combat that look and feel almost the same, leaving you to guess why developers bothered with making more than one combat type). Speaking of which, special effects and sounds during combat are extremely basic and unimpressive, and overall battles are anything but exciting. I also found the choice of avatars for playable characters extremely weird. Considering they are supposed to explorers and fighters, how come there are kids holding roasters in their hands instead of seasoned warriors with weapons?

Key remap not working
At the start of the game there is a popup seemingly allowing to remap keys. In fact, it does not work. Azerty (or rather ZQSD) players, you have been warned. Hadn't I got this game for free, I would have refunded it.

Crushingly difficult
The game is all about crushing RNG. I wasted my whole weekend playing game after game and getting nowhere. Apparently you can make your god stronger by winning but that seems impossible. Something as simple as village placement is absurd and dependent on resource nodes randomly distributed on the map. You need wood, coal, and good crafting materials. Not the low quality stuff, either. You want to scout for good stuff, but then you die long before finding a good spot. You only get one village so you have to make it count. The whole thing is ridiculous. I'm glas I got it on sale but I begrudge even the pittance I paid for it.

Too complicated
Too many complicated aspects to learn and bad UI. Almost the fact that you can only scroll map with middle mouse roll button made me close down the game. And when I got smashed in the first fight I realised that this game is a massive investment in mechanics you wont get any real guidance in. Please try a demo before shelling out the bucks for this game.
