The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

Already own the base game in steam and i have quite a lot of hours. The game is top quality, fun and really engaging. So why i buyed again?(asked nobody ever) well because i want to support CD Project, because i love the game and because i like the ideas behind the GOG platform. So im voting with my wallet, i want this to succeed and i want more ambicious games from CD Project. Greeting from Mexico amigos!

I've been playing Witcher games from the beginning, and this is the peak of the series. Excellent story and game mechanics. A lot of content in this GOTY edition, almost too much to play at once.. It took me over 136 hours to complete, and I almost completely skipped the GWENT stuff, but did almost all contracts, secondary missions and treasure hunts. But all together, great experience, get this, and be ready to spend a lot of time in front of computer.

Yes, the game is very well made, from graphics to sound to depth of the game (crafting and character development are especially fun). But it's a ported console game and the movement controls as well as the general pace of the game are extremely tedious, much more so than other AAAA-titles like GTA. The horse is the only thing that gets you to fast travel points and using it is the most frustrating thing a PC player can imagine. It turns super slow, reacts sluggishly, sometimes delays and sometimes ignores commands; hell it even takes a whole lot of practice to just make the horse follow the damn road. Moving the character both in environment and in battle is similarly problematic. I know that this doesn't bother others as much (hence the strong rating of this game), but if you're easily annoyed by movement controls in console ports then I strongly STRONGLY recommend you somehow try the game before you buy it! Moving around is such a pain in the ass that for this one single, stupid, ridiculous reason I simply couldnt continue playing after only ~15hrs game time. I deeply regret buying this horribly tedious game even though I got it at a heavily reduced price (christmas sale 60% off).

i embarked on a quest to see what the fuss was about, played all 3 games in the series and i can say with full confidance. this game is mediocre, its combat and gameplay and Ok at best, the only merit the world has is that its dark. (rape, gore yada yada.) the story is confusing and as it seems relies on you reading the books. and the choice system is old and honestly broken, working off a checklist that only take into account some of your choices .in the end the games not bad, but very very over hyped.

Perhaps I haven't played far enough along, but about 10 hours in I'm not sure what the buzz is about! Graphics are very nice indeed, although I wasn't as blown away as I was prepared to be... But the world itself feels stiff and artificial. The alchemy, crafting, and leveling systems are hard to interface with (again, maybe because I'm a Witcher-world newb?). The combat is flat. The storyline isn't grabbing my attention. The dialogue is... odd. Why do I only speak in sentence fragments? Most cutscenes offer very few interesting choices (and/or it's unclear how my choices influence the storyline)--I feel like I'm just clicking my way through a movie. I'm plugging away, waiting to be amazed. Still hoping I'll find the game matches the hype around the next corner!
