Worth a try
Combat is clunky, a lot of the quests feels repetetive and involve a lot of walking and voice acting is quite poor. Besides these problems i still really enjoyed this game. The plot is interesting, even though the game to some deegre struggles to deliver it (quest design and voice acting). The choices you are forced to make feels impactfull and there is no clear good or evil choice and it manages to build a good atmosphere. Buy on sale if you are already interested in the series and give it a try.

Extraordinary game
I've enjoyed playing this game a lot. It provided me with tons of fun and excitement. I was afraid that after playing Witcher III it would be disappointing to play Witcher I but nothing like this. I had double pleasure - I understood Witcher world better and also game is just great by itself. The greatest pros: - Quests are very engaging and interesting - Graphics are surprisingly nice. After uploading some mods it looks really amazing - Great plot and great connection to Witcher II and Witcher III I had some problems with screen stuttering and overall performance but found a lot of assistance in forums etc and finally solved it.

Solid Game
It was my first Witcher game and I was surprised about the great graphic for a 12 years old game. The most time I was enjoing the game, but sometimes there are quite annoying quest and too much walkways. You have to switch too much the time of day for solving the quests. Now I'm really looking forward to the second part and if anything has been improved.

Still a great RPG
Revisiting this game after having played through the trilogy once, the first Witcher still holds up really well and stands as the second best game in the series, in my opinion. The overall jankiness of the game doesn't stand in the way of its fantastic story, characters and atmosphere. The gameplay grows on you and feels more rewarding the more care you put into preparing the right setup for different encounters. If you end up liking the game enough to replay it, I encourage you to take different choices and see how that affects the story, because it's worth it.
