The visually impressive adventure-epic The Whispered World is now available as a Special Edition for the first time. Let the Whispered World enchant you with its many animated details and fantastic characters.

Sadwick's adventure begins when he sets out to understand the meaning of his recurring nightmares. In his dreams, he is haunted by a mysterious blue sphere as his world collapses around him. Shana, the oracle, confirms his worst fears: not only does she foretell the end of the world, but also that Sadwick is the very reason for their doom. Face the prophecy and experience an adventure unlike any other!

Exclusive content of the special edition includes an alternate ending, a tutorial, developers' commentary featuring Jan 'Poki' Müller-Michaelis and Marco Hüllen, as well as the in-game orchestral soundtrack, unlockable achievements, and re-polished graphics in some scenes.
  • Exclusive audio commentary featuring 'Poki' and Marco Hüllen, the game's writers.
  • Over 30 awards including “Best Story” and “Best Youth Game” at the 2009 German Game Developer Awards.

Imperfect Magic

Point and click adventure game with a Neverending Story feel and 80s style cartoon cutscenes & voiceovers and frustrating 90s mechanics. The whole feel of this game is like some cult import cartoon you didn't understand when you were eight and were increasingly sure you just imagined. There's also enough relevant plot here that you'll probably want to complete it before playing the much more accessible sequel Silence. Be warned, however, you'll likely be happier using a guide because the logic of all the puzzles and the extensive inventory goes from quite opaque to nonexistent to downright bizzare. Art and especially art design is exceptional. A lot of reviews seem to complain about the voice acting but they're going for camp and they achieved it which just reinforces the whole 80s cartoon vibe. If the puzzles had clearer logic this would be a strong recommend.

Amazing, wonderful, simply perfect

This game is amazing in so many different ways, already when I saw the trailer, was I sold. I’m a deep Point'n Click adventurer; I have played the whole Myst series, Monkey Island, Day of the tentacle etc... The artwork in this game are stunning, The same is the music, I don’t know if the voice act for the characters could be better but in comparison to many others criticizers I love Sadwick's voice because it feels so depressing which makes the game even better as the atmosphere is in a bidder mood, everything is so calm and touchy so you really get the story. It’s well worth the money but could be a little less expensive btw. Yes I did use a walkthrough once in a while, took me like 20 hours to complete anyway.

A true star

Just a super adventure, definitely in the top 5 of best and most original games i've ever played (and I've been playing for 20 years). Looks great and the story is just magical, especially the ending. The puzzles remind me of old LucasArts in all the best ways. Hours of good fun, definitely worth 10-15 euros!

Decent game, bad customer support

TWW is a decent game, with nice hand-drawn graphics, hard puzzles and good enough story, a game I would normally recommend - despite it's flaws - if not for the complete lack of support and customer care of it's publisher/developer. There are numerous problems with this game: from immersion ruining sound issues to game breaking bugs (check forum for details), and the developer's reaction to people complaining about these bugs is to basically tell them to suck it up. Caveat emptor - buy this at your own risk!

Very pretty game ruined by the ending

It is very pretty, the characters are very charming, and the backgrounds are sometimes outright georgeus. Unfortunately the puzzles can be kind of frustrating, a lot of the soulutions are pointlessly contrived. They're very inconsistent. I would have forgiven that if the ending wasn't absolutely trite, the most obvious undeservedly sentimental cliche they could have used, which ends up undermining all the themes that were established beforehand. Those weren't anything revolutionary, but resonant enough, but apparently I was a wrong for expecting a resonant thematically coherrent experience. So unfortunately all thats left are the moments of frustration, and not the moments of beauty, because the game thought those didn't mean anything anyway.
