The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series contains all 4 Seasons, 400 Days, and The Walking Dead: Michonne, which includes over 50 hours of gameplay across 23 unique episodes. With graphical enhancements, behind the scenes bonus features and faithful recreations of classic menus, this is the definitive way to experience Clementine’s journey and find out how her story ends.
Graphical Enhancements: “Graphic Black” art style brings Season 4’s enhanced visual style to all previous seasons of the acclaimed series. Will also include full dynamic lighting to episodes that previously did not receive this upgrade.
Behind the Scenes Bonuses: Exclusive looks at the making of the game from the developers, VO artists, and other team members that brought Clementine’s story to life. This includes over 10+ hours of developer commentary and “Return of the Walking Dead” documentary short.
Gameplay Improvements: Character performances, lip syncing, and other gameplay and UI enhancements make this the definitive Telltale’s The Walking Dead experience.
Even more digital bonuses: Music player that includes 40+ tracks across all seasons, art gallery, 3D model viewer with playable voice lines, and new 3D front end that still includes the original menus and music from all past seasons.
Although a little un-intuitive. There were some "puzzles" that had much easier solutions than what the player was required to do to solve them.
Some choices are a little restrictive. Not all personality types are catered to. Certainly not my own.
But all in all, a great addition to TWD comic series.
Overly long story short: I can recommend this. Just keep in mind, that if S1 does not win you over, then the rest of the series will probably not do much to change that. Also make sure to get it on sale.
This game was quite a mixed bag. It is definitely worth playing, if you can forgive lot of the more lame and downright embarrassing moments, that might hurt the overall immersion. Because of those I was at the point of almost ready to quit the entire game during mid seasons. There's a whole bunch of those moments in seasons 1-3, but a lot less in season 4.
Still in between all the downfalls, there are the characters that make you wanna continue playing. Even most of the support characters are very enjoyable. Especially the dynamic between Clementine and AJ, which is my favorite thing in the entire game. Certain side characters have very predictable destinies, you probably know what I mean if you've played the game, and it's just plain stupid after the first time you saw it. To their credit, at several points they will try to change things up, and it can be either refreshing, or too little, too late. I'm somewhere in the middle.
The character writing is it's strongest point, and all of them are very well voice acted, and they do make me want to continue and see the end result. Every now and then it also throws nice little twists to the story, that will throw you off just enough to make it not so stale and one-note. Overall I think the story is average, but it's the characters reacting to the world that makes it more interesting.
I still think I got my money's worth eventually, when S4 came along. I think that was the point, when it lived almost fully to my expectasions, and I think that's the key word here: Expectations. Those play a big part of your experience, and I think that's what the developers intended, which I do congratulate them for.
Okay enough badly written rambling. Buy it on sale and experience it yourself.
Season 1: Needless to say, it's a classic. Time has proved its worth. Except for some lack of translation in the game language.
Season 2: The plot is actually interesting, but the overall performance is slightly bad. There's also the desperate "□□□□" and the same lack of translation as in the first season.
Season 3: If there's one word for it, it's "redundant." The pacing isn't great, the plot chooses for choice's sake, and the presence of the other characters isn't felt until the third act.
Final season: Nothing to say, finally over the pain. The production is back to the level of the first season.
As for the biography, the fifth story.
I'm sorry that I haven't seen anything related to this IP other than this game (I haven't seen cartoons), so please forgive me for feeling so abrupt and uninteresting to some extent.
If you are interested in the story of this IP, it is recommended to buy it at a discount.
The main four stories run about 50 hours
Telltales never miss when it comes to great storytelling. Sad, tragic, but great nonetheless. The zombies are not the focal point here. The humans are. You get to see how far they are willing to go to survive.
This game may not have high graphics quality and strong playability at present. The best game of 2012, played only two years ago, and completed all chapters in four days. A person playing games in the room, except for eating and not leaving the room. The light is dim, to be honest, I dare not play until night, and I feel terrible about zombie themes even in comic style. But because I was inspired by Clementine's courage, I now have the courage to play zombie themed games. This is one of the two most important games in my life, and the other game is The Witcher 3. Clementine, the light in the darkness, shining on me, never forgetting to chase the light even in the darkness. The language expression is not very good, as it is machine translation. Please forgive me.
