I loved this game as a child, sucked at it, but loved it... For its cuteness, for how every little settler goes about and does his task for the greater good of the people. Somebody here complained stuff took too long in Settlers III, well, that person doesn't know you can jump ahead in time, but I NEVER do that! I love to watch my Settlers carry out my bidding. Building every little house, reaping grain... For me this is the best Settlers game ever made, and it's been keeping me occupied for the past four weeks and will do so for a long time still I believe. When you want to relax, mostly build and occasionally make a big-ass army and crush your opponent, this one is for you!
Loved the settlers 3 as a child and wanted to play them again after I saw somebody play them on YouTube. But sadly i can´t play game on my Computer. It´s just not working at all, because if you start the game and want to play for example the tutorial the game then asks you for the serialnumber which I just don´t have. Even when you get a serialnumber over Google, the game crashes when loading any map. I tried many bugfixes of this known problem but nothing helped. So I have to give this version of the Settlers only a 1 star review, even tho the game itself is a 4 star for me.
If anybody has any idea how to play this game on Win10 64bit Version, any tips are highly welcomed!
Always loved Settlers games. I have great memories from these games. When nr 3 came out, without the fixed paths, that was a big game changer for me. Really nice game!

Like in the winehq arcticle written it runs smoothly on wine and debian. Have to use taskset to force running single threaded but after that.. all good.
If it don't start then Intro isn't disabled. Thats why the amazon campaign won't run - it starts an additional intro which can not be disabled (or I didn't found the option). But the usual campain and the mission pack running.
Great thing, I'm again Settler 3 addicted.
I am a huge, life-long fun of the Settlers 2 games, so it was quite a struggle not to buy S3. When I finally did buy it, all that followed was dissapointment. There is actually no improvement over S2 in this game IMO. The graphics, while technologically better, are less pleasant than S2's. Roads have been abandoned for some reason, and IMO they were quite THE feature of S2's. Difficulty is a joke, you will you just build a resource base and then "BOOM!", million soldiers at your disposal.
Just get S2 or anniversary edition and skip this RTS.
