The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is the ultimate way to play the award-winning RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division.
You’ve tried the rest, now come back to the best! The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition includes the base game and all add-on content as the definitive way to play the beloved RPG from Obsidian Entertainment. This remastered masterpiece is the absolute best version of The Outer Worlds… even if you choose to play this critically acclaimed RPG as the absolute worst version of your character.
Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the colony. Explore the various planets and locations of Halcyon, including the mysterious Gorgon Asteroid and delightful distilleries of Eridanos. As you encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds.
In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
It’s The Outer Worlds you love, but even better: 2019’s hit RPG has been remastered with better graphics, improved performance, additional animations, higher-res environments, and more.
Increased level cap: A higher level cap means even more ways to build your character from the seven branches of the skill tree.
The player-driven story RPG: In keeping with the Obsidian tradition, how you approach The Outer Worlds is up to you. Your choices affect not only the way the story develops, they also affect your character build, companion stories, and end game scenarios.
Lead your companions: During your journey through the furthest colony, you will meet a host of characters who will want to join your crew. Armed with unique abilities, these companions all have their own missions, motivations, and ideals. It's up to you to help them achieve their goals, or exploit them to your own ends.
Explore the corporate colony: Halcyon is a colony at the edge of the galaxy owned and operated by a corporate board. They control everything... except for the alien monsters left behind when the terraforming of the colony’s two planets didn’t exactly go according to plan. Find your ship, build your crew, and explore the settlements, space stations, and other intriguing locations throughout Halcyon.
i want to like this, i really do. but holy moly it runs piss poor. it hurts to see, it seems to run even worse now than with its previous update, yet theres no support for this at all
This game works fine now, whatever bugs people are complaining about at launch seems to have been fixed as of late 2024. You need a powerful computer to run it at full potential.
This game has beautiful colorful scenery, but apparently can't handle HDR (it's a known problem online, I didn't know that at time of purchase). Still looks good without HDR, but it requires a powerful computer to run graphics at full potential. Scenery is the BEST part about this game, so I don't recommend compromising on graphics much.
The story is kind of shallow and not engaging, but there is mild humor here and there. Mildly entertaining, but it gets old and repetitive really quick. I found myself feeling like "why am I here, what am I doing, why do we care?" a lot - not because instructions weren't clear - the story just lacks "purpose," depth, and gets boring. Pick up random quest, go complete task, return and turn in the quest - repeat, repeat, repeat...
Characters are likewise shallow and lack personability or relationship depth - they're just kind of "there." Go to new place, meet new character, abruptly invite this new personality onto your ship... get quest, do quest, turn in quest - repeat, repeat, repeat.
I played this game on another console years ago and hated it - It got boring, and I hated the corporate theme because I didn't want to feel like I was at work while I was playing a game. This time on GOG the "corporate theme" didn't bother me as much for some reason, but it's still kind of boring. Graphics are better than I remember them, I think that's all that's really changed.
Got this game for free on Epic Store.
It's not that good tbh.
+ The gameplay and shooting is kinda ok but the game as it is is too easy (Supernova)
- Gun veriaty is low and the unique ones feel blander then the story.
+ There is some shiny stuff in there: Good voiceacting characters and somewhat funny side story bits.
- This game can get really dark and it somehow makes my PC warm up. (Not even ARK or CoD managed that)
One thing I really have to mention.
Who had the idea that when enemies lose their agro, they become imortal and gain full health? (Give me the name now!)
There are three types of missions. Go here, collect the thing. Go here, kill the guy. Go here, turn on the thing. The story is full of insufferable characters. Incuding your own annoying crew. The only good character in the entire game one guy who you pick up at the beginning of the game. They really want you to dislike him but he is the only one worth keeping around. For some reason they make all the remale characters act like guys and they are all gay. Like,,every single one. Its freaky and strange. I would get one maybe even two but all of them? I gotta tap outa this one. Also, the females are constantly correcting the male characters or acting like they are complete idiots. Its....not good. Its not a good game. The mechanics are polished and the graphics are pretty good. The style is great. BUT, the story and the characters are sub-terrainian levels of dumb. The characters ruin everything. Im going to do you a favor and tell you to save your money. Do not buy this game.
