Old game played on new laptop

I love this game from my childhood, but it is quite difficult to play with the lagging that happens even when I've set it up as per advice from GOG forums.

Not playable on Windows 10

Same problem as described in a previous review. "Doesn't work, will can click to start game but hangs on black screen playing music. Sometimes will load only the ocean background."
