A powerful ancient evil has arisen, and the war to save humanity has begun! The Mummy Demastered throws you into a 16-bit-inspired battle against the undead in a 2D, nonlinear, action-packed adventure. As an elite agent in the monster-hunting Prodigium organization, you must use a variety of weapons, upgrades, and mysterious artifacts to defend mankind against the supernatural hordes of Princess Ahmanet. Your Prodigium unit is already on the scene, but HQ lost contact with them hours ago. Only by exploring tombs, forests, abandoned tunnels, and the cursed streets of London will you discover the fate of your allies. But beware - Ahmanet commands legions of undead, insects, plague-ridden vermin, and worse! If you're not careful, you'll be the next soul in her army.
Stunning retro-inspired graphics and atmospheric chiptune soundtrack
A game with a solid gameplay, nice story(for a metroidvania) and correct Arts, I would gladly give it a good 4/5 if not for the support.
My game is barely playable (crash every 5-30mn) and after the support asked for my dxdiag they just stopped answering.
The game has a critical lack of basic options such as, very noticeably, language. In fact, the game has no options menu whatsoever.
I sure hope you like the game as it load by default because if any elements of it don't work perfectly or bother you in any way whatsoever, there is no way to adjust that short of hacking the game or playing with system registeries.
Your OS's language is not the one you use for gaming? Ha.
Wish for some accessibility options? Tough.
Want to adjust V-sync settings? Joke's on you.
Simply put, this is unnacceptable.
This is given the game runs. The game has a series of rather awe-inspiring bugs and is prone to crashing for seemingly arbitrary reasons. For some reason, have my web browser opened would result in the game crashing trying to load its title screen.
Which of course, led to the first issue.
Great Metroid\Vania clone! If annything it was too short.. Then again i luv these type-o games..
The zombie corpse feature, allthough interesting, can really !#@ck you upp tho..if you die at the worst spot.. its game over..the end.. they should tweak that a bit.. mebe disable respawn's until ya "catch upp"...
and ya prolly want a controller for this.. (my $20 logitech one did great..)
There isn't much to say here imo, it's a generic yet fun metroidvania. The map isn't huge and the game is only about 5 or 6 hours long, but it's very fun when you start getting more weapons and upgrades. Pick it up when it's on sale!
I purchased this game on my Xbox One S a couple of years ago and completed it in a really short amount of time. I only died twice: Once early in the game when I made a mistake and once against the last boss because said boss has a bit more bite than anything else in the game.
The game is truly like Super Metroids on SNES, controls-wise, but instead of aliens to shoot at, you got undead and spirits in a kinda-fantasy settings, like in Castlevania. This is kinda like taking the Metroidvania genre to the letter.
The only 2 bad sides are the duration of the game (barely half or even less than any other decent Metroidvania games in the genre) and the lacks of gameplay creativity + challenges. I only remember having to return to a save point 3 times (to heal and refill) as there was only 1 area in the game where you suddently face thougher foes (and once you master that part, nothing is hard anymore).
This is the kind of game I would recommend at a $5 price range or maybe $10 if you're sleeping on that money.
