Like a Favorite Book

Starts slow, but picks up around the third or fourth chapter. Great game with excellent writing and voice acting. Also liked the sequel, which is called Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Hopefully they will hurry up and hop on the episodic bandwagon.

Wonderfull game.

I discovered this game while bored and looking at the very tiny articles in the back of PC Gamer around the time the game came out. They had a very small blurb about it, but gave it a very high score, so I gave it a shot. Boy were they right about that game. The story was fascinating, the environments creative and intriguing. The puzzles ranged from simple to complex. Also, if it hasnt been noted. This is made by the same guys who did Anarchy Online and the Conan mmo. I dont know why they did that switch. Then the second game for this came out and I wasnt happy with it. I would say this is the best product Funcom ever put out. Its really good if you are into classic adventures.

Beautiful classic!

This is really one of the most beautiful classic point-and-click adventures of all time and one of the first 2.5D games I think, where background was 2D and characters 3D. Also, together with Siberia it was the reborn of point-and-click adventures in the 21. century. I remember that this was one of the strongest gaming experiences I’ve ever had on PC. So how it feels after the long 10 years? Well, still brilliant! If the The Longest Journey was released in 2010 (with better graphics of course) it would be an outstanding game. The story is quite simple and not very original (saving the world(s), the journey of the chosen one) but still quite interesting, especially with the idea of the two worlds. The design of all the worlds and environments and creatures is so wonderful and quite original. There are not too many characters to speak with but each one of them is unique and memorable. Also there is a brilliant voice casting for each charter. And speaking of characters, one is particularly memorable – the Crow! Of course there are also some cons. The game has the typical vice of all point-and-click adventures - overcomplicated and preposterous item-related puzzles – just remember all the incredible things you have to do to get to the cinema! Some of the dialogs could be a bit shorter and less repetitive (“Your are the chosen one -> Tell me more -> I can’t“). And at the end of the game you can quite feel that the creators were running out of time or ideas (or both) – you got some critical items quite easily and for free compared with what you had to do to get similar items at earlier part of the game. Nevertheless, this is an amazing game and must-play for all the adventurers!

One of the best

Hands down, this is probably one of the best adventure games ever made, if not the ultimate best. So much imagination, such a great storyline and storytelling, memorable characters - all crammed neatly into one legendary game. Buy this and drift away.

Stunning adventure

A stunning point and click adventure game, and its just that. An adventure and after you finish it, you feel as if you've read or heard a great story. Great visuals, engaging story that will keep you going and a great soundtrack (So nice that i've bothered to buy the soundtrack CD) Highly recomended
